I know I will get blame for this, but I wouldn't be suprised if Fed did try taking PED's when he was in his late teen's and just coming on to the tour.

I think it is too unfair to say that ALL of them have used something. I mean if that was the case, I would seriously wonder whether we have ever seen a clean tennis player in history. Nadal and Djokovic got people wondering about PEDs because of how ridiculous the AO final was .

I don't see what Melzer, Fish, Soderling, and Berdych have shown that makes them guaranteed PED users. Yes, they could still be using PEDS, but I don't think it is guaranteed that they used anything.

The gap between the top 4 and everyone else is so vast that those are the only guys I think people should be suspicious of.

I don't think it is unfair at all to say that all of the top athletes in pro sports use or have used something. To me it seems naive to think otherwise. Nadal and Djokovic did not just get people wondering because of the long AO final. Nadal has had PED use accusations flying at him ever since he started on tour pretty much and Djokovic has had people suspicious long before the AO.

It is just naive to think that in a competitive pro sport where millions and millions of dollars are at stake that the top athletes in each sport would not use every advantage possible to allow them to reach the top and stay there.
That is just my take on the subject.

I understand what you mean, but I was arguing from a slightly different viewpoint. Here is a scenario for you, say there is a talented tennis player who would love to become the best player he can possibly be, but he does not use PEDs because he is very anxious of getting caught. I think this a very likely scenario. Not every player has the kind of power and connections that Nadal, Djokovic, and Federer do. They know that there is no guarantee that the ATP would cover up for them if they ever get caught so they stay clean all together. The ATP/ITF is not as nice as people think it is. Look at Puerta, he was a good player who got number 9 in the world in 2005. He got to the final of the FO 2005 and the ITF still screwed him. They initially banned him for 8 years and apparently the sample showed such little presence of the drug that they said it would not have effected his performance.

You make a good point that the top players can afford the best drugs and have the best connections but I am sure once a player is in the top 100 they become better connected and have more knowledge about how to go about things especially in a pro sport where access to all things PED has to be easy. How many guinea pigs does the ATP/ITF actually give up? Not many when you think about it so I think most players rising up the rankings would take the chance and use something if they thought it would help their endurance, focus, recovery time, etc.

I think they are all clean. Don't they have to do drug tests all the time?

So, shall we add Isner to the poll? Clearly he is doping, right?

I mean, if Djoker going from #3 to #1 is cause for suspicion then Isner beating both Fed and Djoker in the span of 2 months makes his doping a virtual certainty.

This post is dedicated to the members of the PED n@zi brigade. I expect to see you starting threads on Isner and PEDs. Otherwise you will reveal yourselves to be a bunch of biased Euro haters.

I'd say everyone in the top 20, and most in the top 50!
