I am hoping the answer is no.
Reasons: this is a team event and if you are lucky to be in a nation that has a strong team then you get more opportunities to win points. But rankings should be based on Singles performances where you are the only person responsible. You could also get the crazy situation where one player is slightly ahead of another player for world number 1 at the end of the WTF but then the number 2 player who happens to be the Davis Cup final wins both his rubbers to jump to the number 1 rankings. Tell me the answer is no. Otherwise it is crazy. |

they do get points. No they shouldn't for the reasons you said, but they do.
Also what if you are in a team like France, and the captain decides he will pick Tsonga, Monfils and then he can pick Simon or Gasquet or Llodra... whoever he picks has a chance to get more points, the guys who lose out don't get the chance.
