Man, I always miss the good stuff. I was wondering why you posted that in this thread.

And you actually wonder why people accuse you of trolling here?

And yeah the Baseline is extra dead. I can report that Baseline is one of the polys that just loses the will to live when it dies. No panzerschreck stringbed here.

To sum up, that's the worst poly longevity I've ever experienced. But at the same time, the poly mains only cost a buck. Hmmm, tradeoffs...

so if its a great setup you can just restring a fresh couple sticks for every match. It could work out very good that way. other than the constant stringing.

I think I am going to do Silverstring/PPA next to see if I can get a similar feel as the Baseline. I didn't realize how much I missed that neutrality, and SS is very tension sensitive. I haven't used it properly but once and that was with gut. Thinking even lower for this time around (48/53).

As a slightly related anecdote, someone just dropped off their racquet and requested BHBR at 45lvs. He first came to me having played multis and wanted to get into poly (I think this was early 2010 when RPM came out and people were raving about it). We picked a good poly to start off with (Cyber Blue), but he was adamant that it be strung at 62 like his multis. He said that anything lower caused a loss of control. I tried to convince him that the guideline is 10% lower, but he wasn't having it. So, I strung his stick for him and a week or so of hitting later he was raving about how much spin he was getting, how he could hit out on the ball and it wouldn't go long, the increase in control, etc. He said to me 'I told you about the tension. I'd be spraying shots everywhere if I'd taken your advice.' That was when I told him and showed him even on the stringing sticker inside the throat that I'd strung at 54lbs. Customer does know best, unless it's going to destroy their arm!

the 1.20 i played was close to sensational the first session (after having it settled for 24h) and playable the next session (count 2 hours each time). then it was uncontrollable and broke around 8 hours.

the 1.25 was pretty nice for almost two sessions (less spin, slightly more control) and then also went off, even if i expected it, due to the thicker diameter, to keep it going a little bit longer. interestingly it also broke at the beginning of the fifth session, so maybe it lasted about half an hour more than the thinner diameter.

as funny as it is, in spite of being an austrian brand and producing at a factory about 65km from vienna, the baseline range is at the cheapest arounf 50 euros per reel (some 65 usd + shipping) in germany, in austria it's even a little bit more expensive, while in the us you get it for 40 usd/reel, which is slightly less than 35 euro!!

for 35 euro i would definitely play it myself and cut it out every second hitting session. for close to 60 euros per reel (incl. shipping) i have some longer lasting alternatives, which even after four hitting hours do not drop performancewise below fresh baseline.

nevertheless, this is a really incredibly good string for the first two-three hours, a string that makes you ask yourself what some of the higher priced offerings are doing in the market.

I'd always been curious about this one as it has a very strange description, and people are always bidding on it. So, I decided to throw caution to the wind and put up a max of $30 and ended up with 5 sets of the stuff. I'm 100% sure many of you have seen this on there and have wondered what it was, and since I can't post a direct link to the Bay, I'll post the screenshot of the description:

Here are my pictures of unwrapping:

I haven't actually tried this stuff yet, but it smells like natural gut, looks like natural gut, burns like natural gut, feels like natural gut and stretches like natural gut. Since the claims are so bold, I'm 100% certain that it's simply gut with the "high-tech" jargon added in to make it seem special if it plays well. For example, if the reference standard for gut was Gaucho or Global gut then someone came out with VS Team, they could get away with the same nonsense in the advert since it does play much better. Whether or not it's down to the carbon nanofibers in this case is another issue. I'm in the camp that says: BS.
Man, I need so feedback on this gut.

I used VS touch X BB Original (Alu Power rough and Fluoro) for some good time.

I wanted to know more about it and if it is possible to string it around 60 Lbs.

NY born and raised. Boston is about 3 hours away though, not a terrible drive for a hit

I played for four more hours last night, strings are starting to go dead. on the fourth hour, I could net get any depth unless I really accelrated my arm,but man I love those strings. Anyway, do you string for a guy on the club team, that uses kfactors 90?

Could that maybe be an upcoming test? Or maybe not... I ordered some too, so if it's good, we should keep it on the DL.
