The way they made a huge deal over Drogba's reaction when the draw was made, players like Gaitan criticising Torres and Drogba before the first leg, the way they were convinced they should of won both legs (especially the first one at home). In the end they were 2 goals short, with Chelsea playing the second half on Wednesday in 2nd gear to try and save energy for the hectic schedule coming up.

I expected alot more from Benfica really, both on the pitch and off it.

Clearly a penalty. Those shirt pulling incidents in the box should be punished more. What else you got simpleton?

I too expected a whole lot more from Benfica. As a team that has some genuine talent on their books and in their side, they should have played much, much, much better. This isn't the Benfica that's won the European cup, that's for sure.

Benfica is a team of idiots who think the referees are out against them. further more, both the coach and the president are perfect ignorant idiots. the coach is the laughing stock of the nation ofr his constant mistakes and misspelling in his won language...

you should see what "an scandal" they made for this send off - they went for the newspapers, the federation and uefa claiming this send off was unwarranted and exagerated:

pretty much they are the kind of team that Cesc the Gastly defends... lying cheating idiots who think the referees are there to allow them to play ballet. not surpringly, given the extreme gayness of ballet... wink wink cesc!!!

I see what you mean about their manager! He seems pretty strange from the things he's been coming out with over the last few weeks, it doesn't really come as a surprise to hear it's pretty common from him.

The football Benfica played in the first leg at home was really poor, they just kept going for the long ball. To hear their manager say Chelsea were lucky to win that one and were outplayed was very strange. Do you watch Top Gear at all? Their manager looks like James May!

So who's Hazard going to go to? Seems like all the top Prem sides are in for the player who's been described as Cristiano Ronaldo's natural successor. Given his links/the Spurs connection, I'd be gutted if he went elsewhere, but with his recent fawning comments re Man U, I fear the great red-faced one will have him in his clutches come next season. Gutting as that would be, it of course wouldn't be half as bad as him ending up at the Emirates!

Spurs, Man City or Man Utd. Arsenal would like him, but i'm not sure they can compete financially.

I'm certain he wants to go to Spain though, if he does come to England he'll only be here for a year or two.

I'm pleased Chelsea pulled out of the race after seeming like front runners. Why pay £40 million for someone who flirts with every club out there and has his heart set on Spain? We need to build for the future, someone with the wrong attitude and will bolt after a couple of seasons would be a big mistake.

But what a marvelous couple of seasons it could be!

Maybe, but i'm guessing there will be alot of younger players coming in over those 2 years. Do we really want one of the biggest players setting the tone of flirting with every club under the sun and using the club as a stepping stone to Spain?

The next manager will have to create a new identity, but having him would create the wrong atmosphere imo.

Hazard would fit at United but they already have 3 great wingers who would all want to play as much as possible, think they'll just go for a playmaking centre mid and maybe a backup for Evra and that's it.

City are dying for wingers but it's not in Mancini's tactics unless it's a 'plan B', which I don't think Hazard would accept as other clubs would make him first choice. Johnson and Milner as two examples hardly even play as true wingers for us anymore and Hazard would probably end up the same, really wouldn't want to see his skill and creativity bottled up a bit with City's tactics.

Spurs would be a great fit, Bale and Hazard interchanging on the wings would make for a scary attack, would give them 3 top quality wingers as well with Lennon thrown in and maybe Dos Santos getting a game or two eventually.

Of course this means he'll end up at Newcastle miraculously for 6mil or so when they make top 4 so it doesn't matter anyway.

only on the looks department. other than that, he is a very ignorant person who struggles to put a correct sentence in Portuguese...

I think there's a chance he will get his dream move to Spain still. They say Madrid want to sell Di Maria, so they will have quite a bit of money to spend on a replacement.

Who would want Di Maria? He's genuinely one-footed and his only real asset is his speed (and occasionally his shot from distance, I think he scored a 30 yarder a few months ago). He hasn't got many tricks either. I wouldn't want him playing for Chelsea...

I think somebody would want him. I agree about him not being all that though. Maybe Italy would be an option, Juventus will have money to spend to get their squad up to Champions League level. Inter are looking to rejuvenate their squad, plus they love the Argentinian players.

There are other options too, Anzi maybe? They love a name, Dalglish likes a wide player aswell. Breaker says Man City need wide players and they have money to burn.

He's fallen out with the club and the manager over contract issues, so it seems likely they will cut their losses and get rid whilst his stock is still fairly high.

When I see games like today, I wonder what all the hype about Modric is? Too many times, he's just ordinary.

Not a bad player but can't see why Chelsea was so hot on him last summer.

I'd love to see how this Spurs team would look if they were managed by Fergie. It makes you appreciate his aggressive attitude over the years: he's never been one to simply pick up a point.

Not hammering your boys Ross, just making comments from an entertainment standpoint as a neutral
