Even more surprising when they are both in Los Angeles. You'd think a city of that size would have plenty of indoor courts somewhere that the schools could use for a small fee.

I don't know anyplace in SoCal with indoor tennis.. because ""IT NEVER RAINS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA ""

land and building cost is too expensive here..

There's really miminal reason to have indoor courts in L.A. the percentage of days when there's a chance of being rained out or too cold is very small. Yes, it could happen, but the percentages don't justify indoor courts.

spare me the mcdonald's "it could happen" haha

it's not some wild possibility that one day might happen

multiple important PAC-10 matches get canceled / rescheduled every year...and both of stanford's last two matches have been wiped out by rain

it's fine, and i guess socal's response may be reasonable about property costs etc in the area, but just seems like quite an inconvenience to be canceling / resheduling all these matches

Yea, all it takes is a multi million dollar building that will come in handy once or twice per year. Jeez.

in the 70's there was a place called Hollywood indoor Tennis club.. it was turned into a sound stage.. it was pretty nice but there's no way people would justify the cost of joining when (at that time)most of the local public courts were free..

Roberto Maytin is back in the Baylor lineup, but they fade late and lose the doubles point to Oklahoma.

Maytin and Lars Behlen, both missing from their recent match against Tulsa, are both listed in the singles lineup. I still think Oklahoma is a heavy favorite.

stanford has had its last two matches canceled due to rain

it's not "once or twice per year" that it rains in cali

but fair enough if building costs out there make it not economical even with the real figure of 35ish days of rain per year

nice job sir, didn't see any questionable overrules haha

and ucla pounded stanford on their own courts - 5-1 (4-1 and 5-1 happened simultaneously)

no close matches, burdette won easily for stanford and ucla crushed the card at 1,4,5,6

so much for the theory that stanford and UF are the clear best two teams in women's tennis this year

ucla lost to cal yesterday btw

I thought Stanford would be a little more competitive. UCLA kicking the crap out of Cal so we know Cal won't push USC tomorrow

From past experience trying to follow that USC scoreboard the only way to see the scores update is to completely close your browser each time and then reopen. Pretty bad
