Default All U12 will be GREEN BALL By June 2012

All USTA U12 tournaments in NE will be GREEN BALL round robin by June 2012. Sorry for not posting this a while ago because I have been very busy taking advantage of the excellent weather we have been having in NE.

Interesting!
Is the green ball for all levels of USTA U 12 or only all lower levels and beginner tournament? How about sectional/state championship or sectional designated level (with national points)?

Pro lots happening in Florida. We voiced our displeasure to the USTA folks at price and no RR with the Green Ball. Florida still will have U11, and U 12 is regulation.

$45 for possibly one match is not smart economically, and is floundering.

Draws way down in the U11, 12s across the state.

Sorry for not making myself clear when I said RR I assumed you guys knew it was Level 7 beginner. Level 6 are single elimination with regulation. So basically Level 7 is the transition phase and there are tons of applicants. Level 6 and 5 that are U12 is where the top players play. I have signed up my son several times in a low level U14 round robin regulation (worth the $ because he plays 3-4 times) where he meets 14 year old HS players that have just been playing for few years and hit the ball hard rather than play him against the seasoned top U12 players who have been trained since they were 5 and losing in the first round for $49 a pop. He still has 5 years in the 12's. By next year this time he will be able to hang with the top players in the 12's

Would be nice if USTA had the same levels and setup across the board. Out here we have novice, challenger, open, championships, etc. I think that novice 10, and 12 should use green balls. Strange how each region has totally different categories.
