Hit with the PPA for about 45mins today. I guess this setup has 3 playing hours on it by this point, and about the same for the silverstring. The difference is truly startling. I was working on my BH, and shots going into the net with the SS were landing seriously 1/3 past the service line aka perfect rally depth with the BHB7/PPA. To those who've used it, does PPA fray? It's looking nice and white like Thunderblast, but it doesn't seem to be fraying

PPA isn't immune from fraying, but it's definitely highly resistant to fraying for a multi. If you do see fraying it's micro-fraying like RIP Control. It eventually wears down till it''s paper thin and then it snaps. It doesn't move much and it notches, which seems to lock it in place. In terms of durability, it's up there next to RIP Control. I never tried Thunderblast, but I know that the black dye on black PPA seems to act similarly to what Mikeler described about Thunderblast. It comes off and you can see where you've been hitting the ball, and the string appears white underneath.

This was my experience too. The strings stayed relatively locked into place with some micro fraying. They just kept getting thinner and held on way longer than I thought. If you want a mega fraying multi, go for Xcel or Micronite/Microfibre.

Kind of random I don't know how much you are involved with video games, but the actor that they hired to play the protagonist for the new prototype 2 trailers, looks crazy similar.

Wanted to try pmax string. I twice tried to email the company using the email address from the website and they have been totally unresponsive. Also, whisper touch and touch have been difficult to get on the auction site. I've only seen classic (must be an old model as it is not listed on the website), HighTension and LowTension.

Does anyone know what the story is with this company? Are there any other places I can get this string?

I ordered from them a few weeks ago, ordered whispertouch. Got it a weeks time. Go to the big auction site & order there. Very happy with this string(Performaxx Gut), will not pay the price for VS from Babolat. I believe Babolat change the formula on there VS gut, not as buttery as before. Good luck!

Not a string breaker. Have not had a problem with Performaxx gut breaking and I have tried the Classic and Whispertouch, both feel great. I use Tornado in the crosses and thought this would be a problem. Great feel and spin and plently of power.

What tension do you use for the gut and the tornado?

Bhb7 due to its sharp edges will cause fraying in multis very fast. I like vokl cyclone with nrg2, but it does not match up with bhbr/ltec 4s.

I'm specifically looking for a full bed review of Scorpion, B5E, and silverstring.

Here's the one: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showp...postcount=1932. And I believe there was some good discussion in the surrounding posts.

Classic is the newest--and IMO, the best--line of strings. The site is way outdated, as are most of the item descriptions on the Bay. Sometimes they are responsive if emailed through the Bay, but I haven't had much luck recently.

Does classic come in 1.20mm? I haven't even bothered to check. How's it compare to the previous Touch line?

I didn't see an actual gauge but it is available in 16 or 15L. Supposed to softer than prior lines and have a more "classic" feel.

I never tried any that were just "Touch," only those with some descriptor in front. Classic is the least stiff of all, but it still has the usual generous coating (the Premier has less than Enduro). I have emailed asking if uncoated Classic Premier is available but have not heard back.

No, it's not (yet) available in 1.20 mm. I was told a 17g would be available, but have not had any responses to my emails in a while. I'm having a racquet strung with VS/Premier, so I should be able to compare it to full Premier soon.

Hmm, don't know if I want to string the Baseline. Once I'm back home, I'll use it for sure. I'm thinking that while I've got access to my stringer, I should get used to what I'll take with me this summer. I think it's going to have to be Tornado/Xcel FO.
