Ahem, I am not! Used them when printing in first grade on that paper with the litttle perforated strips on the side
Also when printing receipts as a teenager at my first job that's how we made our carbon copies. That lovely "det-dett dett de dett dettzzzzzzzzzzt" as it prints and then spits it out for you to tear off |

L-Tec 3S 17 / L-Tec Gut 17
![]() ![]() i bring my aerogel to a stringer where i thought i could save some bucks. after they string it with itB string, i just notice that they cut the string on the tie off, just a little bit like 1/8". where it should be the same as PV pix here around 1/4". will i have a problem with this one or what? |

If you want to try the right ltec, hybrid, it's os/4s, and bhbr/4s. Those will give the best results.

Thing is, I don't want the right L-Tec hybrid: I already know what I like most. So thank you for the suggestion, but I will not be using their strings ever again.

SP Tornado 1.23mm / WC Explosiv! 1.30mm
![]() ![]() Stringing: Yes, the L-Tec was so "not me" that I didn't even want to practice with it. So instead, I shall be trying this as my summer setup (have nearly full reels of both strings vs. only a few sets of Xcel FO). Since I already liked Tornado for its responsiveness, all that was left was the cross. Heard that Explosiv! gives a good crisp feel as a cross, so here we are! Explosiv! is just ridiculously easy to string, but since it's thick, good luck getting it through double blocked grommets without trimming significantly. Thankfully, this racquet has none. Strung 52/56lbs. |

As I hinted at earlier, I'm not going to do a full review of the BHB7/PPA or the Silverstring/OGSM. Neither was that good. The PPA had terrible durability (3.5 hours maybe?) and just didn't feel right. Spin was damped as well since it's bumpy and BHB7 is super sharp. Silverstring/OGSM just had no spin to speak of. In a full bed, or crossed with natural gut, you can get away with that. With the Gosen, you lose that unique Silverstring feel. It's no longer a great setup all around the court since it's hampered at the baseline. To be fair, it was OGSM 18 and not 17. There is an enormous difference between them: the latter is one of my all time faves; the former feels tinny.

Honestly can't give you a really good opinion on that. The last time I tried it, it was the 361 Nation test string. That was with a completely different racquet. Even then, I was seriously underwhelmed. Given how much it costs though, I wouldn't recommend it unless someone asks for it by name. It seems to be the go-to Prince junior sponsor string though.

I usually cut my knots about the same length as yours; however, I leave them longer with new strings because of 1 string culprit in the past. Prince Recoil and that slippery Teflon coating! I left a tail about the size shown in your picture then came back a minute later and the tail had slipped through. I was so pissed. So now I leave them about twice as long for a little while and then snip them down later if I think about it. Long tails have never bothered me. |

Yeah, I always leave about an inch until I either put them in my bag, or into the poly bag for the customer when they say they're on their way. No reason to cut them short yet.

Long knots drive me bonkers. I can't take it. I have to cut them short

While there are quite a few reasons for different tensions of mains vs. crosses, I just do the most simple: tension the more elastic string more tightly. When I do gut mains, I usually do like 53/48 or something or 52/48. Either way, the poly is always tensioned less by at least 3 lbs.
