i'd imagine it's a short term deal with uniqlo. Adidas prepping his return, Murray (or Verdasco, lol) out the window.
I think your right. This is most likely a temp deal until 2013 comes rolling around. I really wouldn't be surprised if Adidas boots Murray off to sign Djokovic again. Would be a laugh if that happened though. A Nike deal is also possible, but I guess we'll find out more tomorrow.

Darren Ravelle, CNBC Sports Columnist, has the details on the breakup... Looks like ST truly dropped the ball in every way possible:

ST never really had a presence here in the states. Poor marketing and poor designs.

Hope he goes with Adidas...I love their shirts.

Their stuff seems to be along the lines of Gap/Banana Republic. http://www.gq.com/style/profiles/201110/uniqlo-flagship-store-sneak-peek#slide=1

Hmm...guess I must be living under a rock; I've never seen nor heard of this brand. Looks like it's huge in Asia (no pun intended). However, I just went to their website and there is no athletic wear. It does mention a few of their sponsored athletes though.

Offical press conference will be in Paris tomorrow - One statement that ST made in both the Italian and French press was that Nole become bigger than the brand.....reality was/is the ST stuff didnt sell - period. He will start wearing the Uniqlo stuff this week -

Looks like a similar move that Cerrutti 1881 did back in the 80's - high end Italian fashion with a dedicated tennis line with 2 or 3 players (Wilander and Connors).

Uniqlo has like 3 US stores in NYC I believe and opening one in California (Bay Area i think) later in the fall.

Really? Is it THAT important? C'mon people, as someone else mentioned - it's just clothing

I'm pretty certain that whatever god you pray to has bigger fish to fry. That means you too, Tim Tebow

This has gone from bad to worse. ST designs were lame this year but Uniqlo's are dreadfull. Please for the love of God sign with Nike or Adidas.

Can't belive neither of them have offered him a deal, they will lose a a great chance to gain $$$, especially Adidas.

It did not work out with ST maybe because they did not have the money but who knows, maybe Uniqlo does.

On the other hand I really believe Nike nor Adidas can't afford him, they would have to either let go some of the lower ranked players AND increase the gear prices, cna you imagine Barricades at $150??
As a Djokovic Fan , i think Djokovic family is pretty evil haha, they probably want to get the rights distributing Uniqlo in Serbia and some other European countries lol
Thats why Djoko is signing with them lol....

Yea but its all the little fanboys who like to dress up like their favorite players (even down to the color cordinated head and wrist bands) who will be shocked to see how expensive and hard to get this stuff will be. 3 stores in NYC and one in late 2012 in SFO.....Press conference tomorrow and the rumor is its a long term deal......so all you folks thinking he will be with adidas or Nike or KSwiss anytime soon dream on.

You are very very close to what I bet will happen - Uniqlo is part of a very large group of design retailers (FAST RETAILING is the name) and has pretty deep pockets and $$$$$) I bet Nole will get a cut or some deal (maybe they will have the retail lease??) on stores in Serbia......

Tacchini didn't sell because the company was unable to stock retail properly. They didn't capitalize on his success one bit. Their clothing looks good aside from that dragon stencil nonsense that popped up a while back.

It's just bad business. They signed Djokovic right before he had a historic year. They didn't capitalize on it, and now they have nothing to offer Djokovic to keep him there.

So, can we assume you read his offers and know better than he whom he should sign with?

He took the best deal that came his way. That's business.

I love all the people whining how Djokovic doesn't wear the brand they wear.

Why should only Nike and Adidas have a presence in tennis?
