Jackson could and should be having the same success as Roland. Same wonderful facilities and support staff, same strong state to recruit from, same popular university that everyone wants to attend. The reason Jackson has not (and never will, in my opinion) won a National title is his own coaching issues. There is no player development going on with the men and the top players leave the program because of this. Case in point, Spencer has signed a release and is transferring next year. Another huge loss for the Gator's. Several other players on the team are very unhappy with Jackson and his coaching style. Do you think Foley will fire him if the whole team transfers or quits?

I don't think Foley will fire Andy. He just went Elite 8 with a group that shouldn't have gotten out of the round of 16. I think it would take booster revolt to get Andy out right now.

He surely has a bad trend of transfers. However, if he still wins with all those issues Jeremy will just nod and move on to football. He isn't the highest paid AD in the country because he sweats a few transfers in men's tennis.

Shame about Spencer. I found myself watching his matches more and more as the season went on. Great heart on that kid.

I hate that this is detracting from the lady's thread.

Congrats Lady Gators! Get it done in singles tonight!

Ps...for those paying attention, it will be like a Lady Gator dual match tonight with Will, Embree, Mather, and Oyen all taking the courts at nearly the same time.

Yes, UCLA and USC both had 3 freshman in their line up.

Anybody watch that epic match today between Nicole Gibbs and Mathers of florida ? very tough 3 setter. Mathers had so many chances to win that match but couldn't close it. This could be the year for Gibbs to grab that NCAA title and get the wildcard to the Open.

Didn't watch it, but impressive comeback from Gibbs. Jo is hard to overcome when she gets on a roll, especially seeing as she was playing in front of many friends and family. Hope she takes a shot at the pros this summer. She actually has a unique game that could work well against the bigger hitters out there.

Capra from Duke looking mighty impressive. She is my pick to make the finals from the right side of the bracket.

Who saids Mallory isn't in top physical condition ? She takes down the phenom B Capra of Duke today 6-3 6-2. Power tennis all the way. most of the points were won with clean winners from both players. Burdette just was on a mission. Looked like Lindsey Davenport when she won Wimbledon.

Default Florida 4 UCLA 0

Here are some brief video clips from the Florida/UCLA Championship Match

Alex Cercone hits an ace on match point to give Florida the doubles point and the early 1-0 lead.

Match point at #5 singles for Alex Cercone to put Florida up 2-0.

Match point at #4 singles for Sofie Oyen to put Florida up 3-0.

UCLA's Robin Anderson serving for the 1st set against Florida's Allie Will. Will would get the break.

Lauren Embree serves for the match at #2 singles to cap off the 4-0 shutout of UCLA.

Trophy presentation to UCLA and Florida including speech by UCLA coach Stella Sampras Webster and a few words from Florida coach Roland Thornqvist

Lightbulb All Stanford Final

Didn't win the team championships but Stanford may have had the best players in division 1. Nicole Gibbs was all around best player in NCAA all year long. and Mallory Burdette, one of the top 5 players in NCAA.
Nicole Gibbs vs Mallory Burdette in the finals. Way to go girls.

Also Burdette and Gibbs in the Finals of doubles too.

and They have #1 junior coming in next year. Krista Hardebeck will contribute to the team right away. On paper, i can't see how this team can lose.

All the top teams are bringing just about everyone back next year Feddie, including a duke team that will lose no one this offseason and only number 5 Clayton next offseason...two time defending champs UF who only lose one middle of the lineup player looking pretty darn good also

But sure Stanford will be in the title hunt mix as usual next year

Krista is gonna be a real factor, somewhat like M.Frank on the men's side.. but don't be surprise if you lose Gibbs and/or Burdette to pros.. if everyone comes back ,I must agree with you on this one feddie...

Kristie Ahn out leaves a big hole in the lineup. Had she been able to walk on the court last year in the finals, I have a feeling Stanford would have beaten Florida. I have the same feeling about this year if she could have gotten on court.
