I'm curious what size schools you are looking at.

I coach at Drew University in Madison, NJ, which is about 30 miles from NYC. Its a strong academic school and good tennis as well. We have gone to nationals each of the past 3 years. I like the backhand. Forehand is a little slow on acceleration, but still looks solid

I would like to find a Div1 school, but I know that there can also be good Div2 schools.

Great video - the first bit is probably bad for someone with epilepsy (flashing lights and jerky), the rest is just excellent. You're also playing against a very good player and going all out which I think is great.

Really great tennis. You're certainly a great player IMHO.

The problem you may find with D1 schools is that your level is not high enough for someone looking to get a scholarship unless you go to a low-level academic D1. There are D2 schools that serve the same purpose. They may have scholarships, but not all D1 or D2 schools offer them. Although its not always easy to tell from video, it looks like you would be a 3-5 player on my team and we are not a ranked D3 team as of now.

Really good playerr - of course there is a lot of competition at that level. Not sure if you can make D1 or not. Others would know more than me about that. Good luck to you. I like the backhand. The forehand is good, but at times it looks like your lower body and upper body aren't in synch. Serve is good, but there is more in there than you are getting out. I'm sure it will improve in college, it does have a lot of potential.

@NLBwell: I totally agree on the serve; hitting some more often would not do any damage... now that my summer's started I'll do just that!
What hit me on my lower body was the open stance almost all the time, I think it does not help what you mentionned. Thank you very much!

D3 does not have athletic scholarships, but they can offer a lot of academic and need based aid. Who cares where the money comes from? If its about money, then its what you pay at the end not how much the school costs and how much you get in athletic scholarships.

I am just taking a guess. My #3 has a bigger serve and better groundstrokes and now has 3 years of college experience. That doesn't mean that in a game-day situation that player A doesn't beat player B.

I just wonder if D3 or Ivy League schools give need based aid to international prospects or not.
This question came up in another thread, a kid looking for ivey tennis scholarship.
This has nothing to do with foreign tennis scholarship debate at all....just a genuine question.

It just seems that there are fewer kids from other countries on tennis team rosters at those school. Just suspect that might be from limited access to need-based aid if their academics would not qualify for scholarships.
Besides, how can a college evaluate the applicant's financial situation in another country?

Depends on the school. Over the past 4 years we have had players from China, Jamaica, Haiti, Bulgaria, UK, Russia, Costa Rica, and Israel. Some years the school wants to add diversity and its easier to recruit foreign students. Other years it is hard to get foreigners any aid at all.
