Fed should switch to a Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 95 or . . .

something with specs maybe between what he uses now and a Wilson Pro Staff 6.0 95. I think he definitely should switch to a slightly bigger head size before he retires. At least, he should give it a try. 95 sq. inches would probably be the most he should go. I am sure he could have Wilson make for him something around a 93 sq. inches head with a slightly wider beam width to add a little more power. the big advantage is that a slightly larger head size will give him a little more margin for error. his current racquet has such a small sweet spot!

If Federer thought he would play better with a 95, he would have switched to it already. Wilson has given him all sorts of prototypes to try out over the years and he's passed on all of them and stuck with his 90. I'm sure he still feels he plays better with his 90. I've never ever heard him blame a bad loss on the size of his racquet.

Pete Sampras has even said that he thinks he would have benefited later in his career had he switched to a bit larger head size. I am not saying Fed should go really large to a 98 or 100. But a 94/95 I think would be good for Federer.

And I would have won the lottery last night had I picked the right numbers.

How would Sampras know the result of something that never happened? Maybe switching to a larger racquet would have immediately ended his career? He doesn't know because he never did.

Seriously, Fed could make a switch if he wanted to, he's become a creature of habit just like any tennis player, he's stuck to what works, 16 grand slams and counting, plus he's got twins, a wife, foundations and a moral obligation to tennis in general... the racquet in his hands is fine, in fact it would be cool to just see him use the "actual" racquet and not a paint job, isn't he using a hyper prostaff 6.0 85? he doesn't need a larger head size, what he needs is a real break, maybe pull a Clijters retire and come, back and win 3 slams, imagine that he'd be rested and after having maybe one more child he can win 3 more slams.

I think Pete understood his game and abilities well enough that his comment about using a little bit larger head size is not completely unjustified. Also, just because you didn't attempt something doesn't mean you can't have an opinion or thoughts about it.

And I think maybe Fed knows his game and abilities well enough to decide what racket suits him best. Lol joking, that would just be silly, you obviously know better. I just hope Fed sees this, makes the switch, returns to his former glory and dominates the slams and gives you the credit you deserve for being such an enlightened and helpful person.
