Default Help With Lead On MG Prestige

Hi finalfanatasy7 -

I created this separate thread so that our conversation wont derail the original poster's questions. Here is where we were:

i went to this link to get my specs - http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/REVI...MGPReview.html

so in the link you provided i put
LENGHTH -27
WEIGHT 11.2 oz
BALANCE 12.625 INCHES
SWINGWEIGHT 328
TRANSWEIGHT - Searched 4 my racket at put 12.42

I got
Power potential - 41.06
PLOWTHROUGH CENTRE - 27.5
POWER POTENTIAL- 17.33
PLOWTHROUGH - -9.9.

2nd table i do not understand
I stated in my 1st post about added lead, i did not add this into stock weight of racket, as i posted the link above to give me my specs.

I dont even understand the info and where i should add lead tape onto racket...... long night for you jack

Okay, so... just to make sure I have correct digits on the frame you have...

I might be mistaken but the TGK237. (1-3) are all pro stocks from the MicroGel Mid mold. The 231.1 is an 18x20., the .2 and the .3 are the 16x19's. However, the specs you have given me are for the retail MG Mid (and I think you have a typo, the weight is 12.2 not 11.2.) So can you clarify a little for me? I'm guessing you might have a frame that is repainted as a later version, but really is a stock MG prestige mid underneath, so the specs are the same... kind of like the PT57E and the original iprestige? Uhmm and hurry before VSBabolat shows up and sends me to pro stock school hehe.

you are correct. . i cant weigh the racket as i dont have scales. heres a pic of the racket:

i use a extra tourna grip over leather one,
1 gram lead at bottom of handle - tucked under tourna
1gram at top of handle, tucked under tourna grip
Now as for 2day i use 4grams at 10, 4 grams at 2- moved it from 9&3, prefer it at 10&2

dont be in a rush to do this, take your time, i would like add more plow through feeling, as i love hitting with my friends st vincents 85. Not in a rush,

thanks alot Jack

You'd better weigh your MG and find its balance point first. Then just lead it up to match the 85.

Depending on your stroke style, I'd encourage you to seriously consider increasing its swingweight over that of the 85.

FinalFantasy7 -

step 1. okie dokie mc smokey... i got yer stuff figured out, and took some screen grabs on the train ride back home to jackville. guy sitting next to me seemed way too interested. yup, Smasher08 is right, it's best to invest in a scale, but the published specs arent a bad place to start either. rather than just throw you a fish, (which would be way easier for me) i'm going to teach you how to be a fisherman. you will for sure know how to operate the tw customization worksheet for yourself after i go thru it with you. the PS 6.0 85 and the retail MG prestige are pretty close in quite a few specs. see below.

[..]

step 2. since the customizing tool only has 5 columns, lets figure out where your frame is with must the leather + overgrip + dampener first. since all of those run thru the center of the frame, there is no width to enter. you just measure from the buttcap up and enter in the length from the buttcap. leather + overgrip = 16 grams so i spaced that out evenly at 1 - 3 -7 inches. dampener is at 15.5" up. see below screen grab

[..]

step 3. so ... all that is left is to add in your lead at 10:00 + 2:00, we start over with the last specs to get five more fresh columns. here is where you enter in the width for the first time. your final digits are highlighted in yellow. bam. see below.

i think you have everything it takes to do this stuff well, you already came amazingly close just by feel, and it's no accident that you have chosen the mg prestige mid. you said it yourself, just take your time.

hope this helps.

jack could you help me as well, here are the specs of my exact frames, they are matched microgel radical mp 10.9 oz, 12 5/8" Balance Point, 282 SW. This is with stock grip, I added head leather grips, so I'm thinking that added 10g based on what I have heard. I'm looking to match these specs to that of a st.vincent as well. Help would be greatly appreciated!
