I don't know where a game penalty would apply. According to the point penalty system, the first time infraction only earns a warning.

I usually am lenient about tardiness penalties. Remember, two courts should have been outright defaults, but I did not take the defaults. I also rounded down the game penalties.

If the opponents in the more recent case had wished to impose penalties for a broken string and the rules would allow it, so be it. Me, I would probably be lenient.

Good to know that you also have different degree of leniency towards different rules, just like the most of us. So next time you strictly adhere to one saying rules must be followed (e.g. catching the ball 10 feet behind baseline to prevent it from going into a swamp in a social match), we can come back to this
