hi there,
just got my wife a prince exo pro lite 100 from TW. After receiving it and looking at the string job, I notice that the knots seem awfully loose (to me at least) Could i get a second opinion from you guys? thanks http://s15.postimage.org/9s8a3pp7f/photo3.jpg http://s10.postimage.org/6me2k3ljd/photo.jpg http://s18.postimage.org/8x0lq4meh/photo.jpg Last edited by HellBunni : 06-21-2012 at 06:25 AM. |

Yes, the 2nd half hitch was not tighten properly. Take a pair of needle nose pliers and gently tighten them down. Then put a drop of nail polish on the knot to keep them from loosening in the future.

Bad workmanship, but in reality the sloppy knot will make no difference whatsoever. So long as the first half-hitch is good things will be fine.

I got the racquet and string job from TW.
On one of the knots, the first hitch looks loose too, but the knot is like right in the string hole. I took a pair of pliers and tried to pull it, but didn't seem to help much, as the knot came loose right the way. (and the color on the string changed, so I wasn't sure if I could apply more force). they are Prince Premier LT 16 String btw |

That's awesome, TW deleted my previous post to cover up what I said about them.
![]() You need to call them and have them either credit you some money for the string or poor string job or they need to comp you a couple of string sets to make things right. Those are not the worse tieoffs I've seen in a while, but they're definitely up there. Someone needs to go back to stringing school. I wouldn't pay for that crap. |

lol, it wasn't anything really bad. Just jokingly said they should beat the stringer over the head with your racquet and see if the knots held.
Anyway, ya, call them up. It a bad job... I wouldn't make knots that bad if I was stringing for free for one of my family members which would never use the racquet, let alone a paying customer. |

TW, or any online retailer for that matter, is definitely not known for their high quality string jobs. Next time take it to your local shop, its worth paying the extra 10-15 dollars.
I've never been a fan of the double hitch as it always seemed to me that the first hitch was the only one really doing anything and at high enough tensions it can easily slip through the grommet on a thin gauged string. |
