Default Great Cross String under $7 similar to...?

I've been using Gosen OG Sheep Micro Super 16L 1.25mm as a cross string (with Tour Bite mains) for a while now. A few months ago it disappeared from T-W's website...luckily they got some more in.

Obviously I didn't learn my lesson because the last time I ordered string I only ordered 4 sets. Now it has disappeared from their website again.

Hopefully they will once again get some more in.

But in case they don't...what is a great, but relatively inexpensive (maybe under $7), cross string that gives a semi-soft (but not mushy) feel?

I've tried the regular Gosen OG Sheep Micro 1.22mm but it just didn't give me the same feel. I've also tried both colors of Forten and they didn't work out for me.

Thanks for any help.

Just got an email from TW saying they will no longer be carrying any of the Gosen Super strings.

So I guess a new cross is definitely in my future.

I've been trying Solinco Vanquish 1.30, a really nice multi for crosses IMO.

I didn't like Gosen sheep micro as a cross. Forten Sweet was too mushy. I've been using optic yellow PSGD and it's ok. I like the optic yellow best because I think it feels springier than the white or gold. But I string it pretty low. After doing a search for an even better cross, I will be trying N.Vy whenever my order arrives.

You might want to consider Dunlop Hexy Fiber. It's a low-powered elastic multi and the gauge runs a little thick. The price is in your range, but it's not quite like OGSM Super.

Thanks for all the input. Ordered a set of N.VY 17, Revelation 17, and MultiFeel 17 to try as a cross. Already have a set of OG Sheep Micro 17 on hand. Hopefully one of those 4 will be a great replacement for my Gosen Super 16L.

Again, thanks for your help.

I switched for Gosen to Head PPS synthetic gut. More power and softer. I also use tor bite mains. Only $3.50.
