It just sits outside the frame and holds the string. Leave enough string behind it to tie your knot. Tension your first 5 crosses, then go back and take the clamp from the 4th cross (make sure your 5th clamp is tightened!) and clamp off on the inside of the racket right by the starting clamp. Then release the starting clamp and tie a good knot of your choice. Continue on with the rest of the crosses after you tie a good knot. There are videos on YouTube that show you how to do it. |

Topaz, You are razor sharp! Must be all that studying you've been doing... Yeah I had two season in which the team was first place until the last match (in '09) and sudden death point (in '10) of the season only to get knocked out of playoffs

correct me if i am wrong mikeler, but parnell's doesn't hold tension. I only use parnell's on mains. Use Bulky knots or other tension baring knots for crosses. I only do two piece stringing. i never could figure out (and measure for) how to do ATW.

I think the Parnell just cant be used as a starting knot. If you have a Starting clamp you can Parnell all knots. At least that what I do and is one of the biggest reasons I got a clamp to begin with.

they are worth a pretty penny. I heard it's really good in terms of clamping power. is it hard to clamp with or do you need finger strength of steel?

Yeah, it seems to have very good holding power while still not needing crazy force to handle them. I told Sap I'd trade my regular Gamma starting clamp for his Bab one. He's a smart one - he declined...
