Guess what.. Men's final was on in my area today. Maybe the phone calls and e-mails did something. Regards, Steve |

Yeah, but it wasn't on in the Seattle area at all according to other posters here and I find that an unfortunate statement about tennis. CBS seems to have the least amount of control over their affiliates. I have a friend in Iowa who regularly misses parts of the USO in favor of local college football games on her CBS affiliate. No way CBS allows that to happen to other sporting events it pays for.

I believe it helps if there is a high placed network executive who loves tennis. The Canadian sports network TSN shows huge amounts of tennis...and tennis is nowhere in Canada, behind hockey, curling, and log-rolling, and there is no logical reason as far as i can see for showing it. Smaller network I guess, and we're lucky enough to sometimes get ESPN Latino with Brit commentators , and the European masters. We do suffer through CBS for some finals, but it's shown complete by the French sports network too.

That is a very unfortunate statement about tennis in general... they do seem to be able to cover "sports" like poker??? Regards, Steve |
