I love David with all my heart. As much as I adore his game (and him), I don't feel Nalby is grand slam material. Of course I would love to be wrong, but I get the feeling that just like one can't expect Safin to be consistant, one can't expect Nalby to win slam after slam. Seems he tends to be repeatedly defeated by himself somehow...

With that said, prove me wrong Nalby!!!!

I think the hard courts will have made him even better for clay, the only thing that can stop him is injuries.

Fed is competing in these tournaments just for that reason, to stay ahead of nadal.

Fed is tired and it shows, he is off, not staying with the point, not as hungry as he was.

I hope he plans on skipping the clay all together as I predict that he will have very early upsets.

But then again the ATP is very good about making sure their meal tickets make it to the finals

Jackson, Fed already announced he will play ALL of clay TMS tourneys. He wants to win the French more than anything, as he said " I know what it means for my career".

We all know that he want that major, that is no secret at all, I am not saying what he is doing rather what I jokingly/mockingly think he should do with impliance that Nadal will kill everyone, not to mention the rest the the clay courters.

And that fed look out of his game and tired might be better off not bothering ha ha ha ah

That is a joke

Heck, Fed does have a lot to prove on clay. So does Nadal. Should be interesting. Is Fed going to be tired? Nah, he is fit and he is going to have a nice break before hitting clay, where his worst nightmare is waiting for him - Rafa Nadal. On clay. Ouch.

I agree completley with the 1st part..that Rafa will be good on clay but may not win the French (although he is the safest bet). But I don't believe Fed can win it either.
But Acasuso? C'mon it's like me saying Ancic will win Wimby.

I'm dreaming about Coria's comeback...

You'll see, CroSen. This year, Acasuso will be a real threat on claycourts.
He's playing great, and very confidently, and with his huge talent, but inconsistent and irregular game, confidence is the real deal for him.

This will be a great year

Federer has taken the sort of momentum into a clay season that I haven't seen for years.

This makes for one great clay season coming up and I feel Federer will actually win the French Open this year.

Well look what has inconsistent game done to Nalbandian...he was a regular Top 10 2002-2005 and in that period he hasn't won a title... since Basel 2002 to Munich 2005. And we're talking about the guy who can beat Federer!!!

I'm sorry but with inconsistent/irregular game and a confidence issue you can't win FO. And oh yeah..Fed and Nadal are also a bit of an obstacle in the way to the title

What about Gaudio? Totally inconsistent and irregular game, who had fun for the first time in the court, played like he knows how to play, and won FO.

Acasuso hasn't played irregular nor inconsistent this year. Specially on clay. He has steamrolled every guy he beat, and lost to an inspired Calleri in 3 tought sets, in Buenos Aires, and retired against Almagro in Acapulco.

It's true, he hasn't played against good claycourters, but he has the game, and he's playing confidently. He's my underdog for this year's clay events
