C'mom guys...Coria,Gaudio,Gonsalez,moya...and others players are easy for Federer and Nadal is seed number 2...so maybe a showdow final, but if he lose before Federer has all chances(C'mom fans of Nadal he is not unbeatable in Clay)
What do u think?? Do u agree with me?? ![]() |

whilst federer is no.1 in the world, nadal is the best claycourter in the world and has a 3-1 (correct me if im wrong) advantage against fed. the last time they met, nadal triumped on hardcourt. federer will be pushed by gaudio, coria, etc. but eventually overcome them, but IMO, until he figures nadal out, i cant see him winning RG, unless of course, nadal gets taken out mysteriously

Well, there´s another thread with this same topic going on right now.
IMHO, It´s true that Coria or Gaudio (the best claycourters besides nadal) wouldn´t be able to beat fed on clay (i dont mention moya couse he seems he has lost his game nowadays). They would choke. BUT, Fed could still be defeated by someone else, an underdog who has nothing to loose vs. fed (for ex. Acasuso or F. Lopez, something like that). And Nadal, i agree, is not unbeatable. It seems to me that FO is not gonna be won by Nadal nor fed. |

It's definitely realistic.
Sure Nadal is the man in clay, but he could get beaten on his way to the final, you never know. 6 matches in a row to make the final, anything can happen. and also Fed could get beaten too. For them to meet in the final that's 12 matches that have to go their way. One slip, and it could be Fed's year, this is a big possibility. |

That's right Rhino. Anything can happen along the way - all it takes is a little slip and the whole big picture changes.
The fact that.... - Fed is in need of a RG title - Fed is going for a fourth GS title in a row! - Nadal is number two this year which means they could only meet in the final and not that sorry semi final crap like last year. - Nadal is the last one to beat Fed (so far anyway) - Fed has the strong possibility of winning all 4 slams this year if he can pull out the French....and if that happens, he would have won the last 6 slams!!! ...will all make for some historically exciting tennis! It could be the high point of this year.

I think Nadal repeats and I wont be shocked if Federer loses to a guy like Acasuso, Verdasco, or Coria. Even if Gaudio got hot he would do in Federer. Spain and South America - clay is in their blood

well i don't remember the exact draw last year, but i don't think federer beat any big name clay courters en-route to his semi, except for gonzalez and moya, and moya remember was badly injured when federer played him. i think we're being a bit overrating when we say h'll cruise past coria, guadia, etc. this isn't to say he can't win the FO. the way hes playing he cna beat anyguy on any surface on any given day. same said, clay is the one surface, where any guy can beat federer on any given day. and i donno, i just dont see nadal not getting into the final. the way he played last year, think about hit, nadal was as dominant on clay as federer was on hardcourts and grass courts. i think nadal won 9 tournaments all on clay, and 2 hard courts which allowed him to tie federer's 11 tourneys. basically becasue of his clay court dominance, and because clay is such a big part of the season, he got to no.2. granted hes getting better at hard this year ocnsiderably, still look to see nadal his own crazy self on clay. and with the way that kid thinks, its hard to think he'll choke, if he gets beat, he'll have to get beat, adn we all know how hard it is to actualy beat nadal, as in be offensive past him, cuz u can't play defense and expect to beat the kid at his own game.

When I saw Federer 1st time, I thought he was a clay courter.
I personally do not understand some people argue it's tough for Roger to win RG. He is a strong baseliner. Why should he have difficulties to win RG ? To me, it's more of anomally that Fed won 3 straight Wimbledon from baseline. I'd say he can win two of more of French Open....

Anyway..it's hard to predict before the clay season has actually started. We're using only statistics and what we have seen before to make our predictions. A new year- a new claycourt season. Who knows what can happen. |

all the "other" clay-courters: Gaudio, Moya, Ferrer, Acasuso, Lopez, etc. are good, but I just can't see them winning over Nadal or Federer. If I was gonna choose between those guys I'd definitely choose Coria, seeing how far he took Nadal in both masters series on clay. Moya, Lopez, and Acasuso seem better suited for hard courts. As for Nadal vs. Federer, if it does happen, I'd say Nadal barely edges out Roger. If I recall correctly, Federer had a huge number of unforced errors on the forehand side, as well as in the rest of his game (around 65 or 70 unforced errors in all). Not to discredit Nadal, as he probably accounted for a lot of those, but that number seems too high to be all from Nadal. So in response to the post, I say yea. One thing's for sure, if that match does come up, I know I'm gonna be watchin' it!

if fed does grand slam it would automatically make him greatest player ever.
reason. in the process of winning RG if he does, he would complete the "roger slam" and if he were to win wimby and us after wards, then he will have a 4 peat of wimby and 3 peat of us in the porcess, also making 6 slams in a row and 10 slams total in the porcess of 3 years. now tell me this, would this qualify this above all others in the past? i think so |

nothing can be said until he makes it into the finals hopefully against Nadal. If Federer does win (which i truly doubt) then it would be a great achievment. Nadal looks too solid to be taken over however and i dont think Fed has athleticism now to take him
