honestly I'm not extremely interested in it at the moment because I have a few strings yet to try. Also, the company is relatively new (2009ish I think) I know it's new to america, but there's just not a lot out there talking about it even in other countries it seems like. I just wanted to start this thread because it was bound to happen eventually. I am also very curious just to see if there's something special about it.

So I have completed testing the Still in Black Select string. Stringing this string was like any other poly. As this is not a textured or shaped poly, it was a lot easier to string than some of the crazy twisted strings out there which made me enjoy stringing up this string. The color which they say is a dark blue looks awesome in my racquet and is not a color I have seen before in a poly which is nice.

My overall impressions of this string is that I would rate this among the top 3 polys I have tried to date and I have tried probably about 25 or so of them. What I liked most about it is the tension stability and good blend of comfort and control for a poly. This string held tension pretty good (broke it after about 20 hours) and is fairly low-powered string with very good feel and comfort for a poly. It offered good control, decent spin and played very nicely. I was able to play some of my best tennis in a long time with this string and the only thing that would make this string better would be spin, but you can’t get everything with a string, lol. If you like control poly’s with decent power and comfort, this may be a good string to consider trying out.

Haven't decided if I will be trying any of their other strings but I liked this one..

I also just received a set of Select 1.25 from another site to playtest. I will post a review on here too.
When I touched it, it felt pretty stiff. I would say its as stiff as ALU power. Hopefully it plays soft. I will be playtesting at a low tension around the lower 40s since it seems pretty stiff.

I received a test set of the Still in Black Protect 1.23 co-poly string. I strung it up last friday. Coming off the stringer, it showed 48lbs (had my lockout set for 50). Played 3 sets Saturday morning and afterwards it was down to 46. I strung it as a hybrid with Forten Sweet 17 in the cross. My last few racquets had Rpm Blast/VS and PHT/Generic nat gut strung at 55/53. My impression was the Still in Black was quite underpowered comparatively. Control was okay as well as access to spin. I usually hit a topspin forehand with a slice OHBH. I think the other two produced better all around. I had more balls sailing on me and didn't have as much touch. However i did ask my friend who was playing with me whether my serves had the same kick. He said it's no worse than normal. I didn't feel any shoulder pain (having come back from a separated shoulder) after which was good. I'm playing with a Dunlop Bio 500. I'll give the strings another go this weekend to see if they've settled anymore and if they feel any better/different.

Average co-poly imo..notched and a little movement on mains at the contact point.About 8 hr mark and I'm ready to cut it out, maintained decent tension but feels stiff and dead. Strung at 56m 54x and would go a few lbs less in my vcore100s if I had to do it again.

I'll post my StringForum review here...

This string was tested in both cooler evening temperatures and very hot/humid afternoon temperatures. It strung up fairly easy, very similar to Pro Hurricane Tour. I let it sit for 48 hours after the stringing for the bed to really settle in. The courts were all outdoor hard courts so there was no durability issues as there are with clay. US Open Championship balls were used at all times. The string played extremely inconsistent throughout it's playing life. The tension loss was semi-consistent throughout it's life as it fell in "jumps" for me. (The string lasted 4 days, 2 hours a day.) The first day was solid, the second day felt really off, the 3rd day was near the first, and the final day felt close to the end. At the end of it's life it was launching quite a few normal shots long. Next time I would definitely string it higher as it's quite a bit softer then most other poly's. I think it was a mistake on my end, but if I do decide to revisit this string I'd try 10 lbs higher to account for what felt like a substantial amount of tension loss. There was very little string movement to begin with, but as the strings wore on, it began to move more which is normal for me. As stated before, the spin production is vastly less than Pro Hurricane Tour and worlds behind Solinco Tour Bite. For me it produced less spin then some multis. Overall a great string for comfort, I imagine that a hybrid with gut in the mains would provide the ultimate comfort with a lot better performance than a full bed.

Compared to Pro Hurricane Tour, it's a softer version with a lot more power. I'd much prefer to use Pro Hurricane Tour for the issue that it's a more uniform string. Protect had an issue with hot spots in the bed. Comfort wise, it is worlds ahead of pretty much any other poly I've tried. It's softer than even poly/multi hybrids that I've tried. The only way I would use this string is if my arm was killing me and I absolutely had to use a poly. It's a very spotty string in comparison to Pro Hurricane Tour and the spin production is quite a bit less with a similar stroke.
