I was in a shoe/athletic store the other day and I was looking at the stand with headbands and wristbands. Then I ran across a package of this skinny cloth bands labled as bicept bands????
Can anyone tell me what you could use a quarter inch wide bicept band for? This things didn't seem to be be enough to use to wipe off sweat. Also, if they are up on you bicept, I can't see how they could keep sweat from running down your arm onto you hand. So what are these things for? |

they are actually more for the football players as so many football players cut on most of the fabric on normal sweat bands and put them around their biceps or their elbow area. why? i dunno but it seem to be one of those minimalist things

I kind of figured they were mostly for looks.
I wouldn't wear them on the tennis courts as I prefer not to put anything on my arms unless they are needed to stop sweat. I'll only wear wrist bands on the days where I need them to stop the sweat dripping down to my hand. On cooler days I prefer to play without them. |

I thought they were primarily for football players who don't want sweat on their forearm. Lessens the chance for a fumble when tucking the ball.

my opinion on that is that if your biceps aren't like monfils or nadal...you probably will look pretty bad in them

I doubt footballer's actually wear bicep bands to help secure the ball, theyed be playing in the cfl if that was the case. Purely cosmetic, to show off the guns.

I used them in lieu of normal sweat bands. These are only 1" wide instead of traditional 2" or 3". I simply switch them out more frequently while playing than bigger wrist bands. Nothing like reviving a 6-year-old thread...

I wear them on my upper forearm like where you would wear a tennis elbow brace. I sweat alot and it does help with sweat rolling down my arm. It also offers a bit of compression like a tennis elbow brace does and that feels good to me, plus I like the way they look.
