Title says it all really ... are tennis shorts like shirts at all, in that they do better at not soaking up sweat? I'm getting sick of playing in 80-90 degree weather and coming out semi-drenched.
I'm heading to the Nike store soon, and I figured I'd pick up some real tennis shorts. |

I've played in both training shorts and tennis shorts. I think the tennis shorts do a little better, it seems, but training shorts work mine.

The same goes for shirts, warm ups, shoes, socks, rackets, and strings. Use them once when they are in season and discard.

I get by with $8.99 mesh Champion training shorts from Target.
Nice deep pockets and they don't show sweat. No need to spend 4x that for Under Armour or something else.

If you don't wear 100% cotton or 100% nonfunctional poly one, Taste > Funtionality.

It's the material that matters when dealing with sweat, not whether the shorts are tennis-specific.

I should have asked whether or not the tennis-specific shorts are made with a material that helps with sweat... |

Any sport shorts will do. The problem is, tennis is the only sport that comes into mind that uses shorts with pockets for the official match/training sessions. So my football shorts are useless as I am a bit nervous when serving ( I even tell my partners PLS DON'T RETURN THE FAULT, JUST LET IT GO OUT PLS
The shorts I use at tennis are actually some Cameroon Puma shorts I bought once but not for official use, I don't even know why I bought them then, don't like the combo red-green on them, I guess it's because I accepted their OK as long as they have pockets and Eto'o is still at Barca Oh and, I simply don't use cotton shirts or shorts, they get so sweaty immediately, everybody is crying because they get wet so fast and take forever to dry. I've been explaining to simply buy a true Nike Polyester shirt for sport, even if it's not a tennis model, I use them and even though I am the sweatiest one of all I know: from head to bottom, even my palms, I sweat nasty like Nadal. I also bought a bandana because if I wear caps I destroy them with the sweat ( and washing them constantly will destroy them anyway ). I am the one who suffers the least consequences thanks to using Nike tech Last edited by PaulFCB : 07-10-2012 at 02:33 PM. |
