For tight, controlled spin: ALU and Tour Bite. For unpredictable, zigzag spin: BHBR.

Kirschbaum Spiky Shark & Pro Supex Blue Gear are known as the spinniest strings.

Spikey shark is very spin friendly but it isn't a heavy ball type of spin it more just sits up, but when you hybrid it its a monster

Strange you don't have BHB7 in that poll. Whether you agree with them or not, its RSI's #1 rated poly for spin, and they test loads of strings.

Dunlop Black Widow gives me the most spin of any I have tried. Granted I have not tried all the strings on your list, but I am really impressed by the amount of spin Black Widow generates. In my opinion, it gives more spin than RPM Blast

With respect, the poll's a bit of a mess. You've got PHT in there, you've got Barbwire in there, and you've even got a nylon string in there!

Gut/poly hybrid FTW. Makes spin casually accessible.

Depends on the frame.
Dense string pattern: - Wilson 17 or VS Team mains - 18 gauge poly such as CoFocus for low powered frames and Focus Hex for higher power frames Open string pattern - Wilson 16 or VS Touch mains - 17 gauge poly such as Focus Hex

For me. my two go-to strings for good spin and decent control are BHB7 and Dunlop Juice. Dunlop Juice is a really nice string (IMO) that doesn't get a lot of mention... it is also very yellow (but that works with my racquet color too).
Pro Hurricane Tour is a great spinner, but really harsh. I use a very light racquet (Dunlop 500 Lite w/o lead) to generate as much racquet speed as I can, so harshness factors in for me even tho I have no elbow problems. I hit a heavy topspin FH, topspin one hand BH, solid kicker 2nd serve and like to throw in drop shots regularily when I get people buried behind the baseline, so spin and control are important for me. I also string my own, so re-stringing every week-2 weeks is just something I do and I accept the cost. |

There is plenty of spin generation to be found in this premium polyester string. It features a pentagonal outer profile that offers great durability. ◦Gauge: 17 / 1.26mm ◦Length: 40ft / 12.2m ◦Composition: Premium monofilament polyester ◦Color: Yellow And of course it is subjective.... different swings, different racquets, different strengths, etc.... it works for me, as does BHB7.... but overall, I think I like the Juice a bit more. (In a heavier Becker racquet, the Pro Hurr Tour worked best for me. I switched to a lighter racquet to get more racquet speed, and of course that changed everything.) |
