Isade Juneau from Indiana got a WC into qualifying at the Granby challenger and has won 3 rounds to qualify. He plays the Mexican Daniel Garza in round one and even if he loses will jump close to 300 places higher.

He had a great draw to qualify beating a 37 year old 76 in the third and then a 17 year old.

I wonder how many people in a challenger setting have played people with a 20 year age gap

M. Frank beats Bjorn Fratangelo in straights today. Would have liked to have seen Bjorn play a year or two of college as well.

Oklahoma Sooner Dane Webb into the semis in Joplin. He edged Austin in a 3rd set breaker.
Washington's McMorrow was beaten in 3 by Sanam Singh. |

Several current players in Qualies today in the Lexington Challenger. Former Hoo Drew Courtney playing Bjorn Fratangelo, UVAs Jarmere Jenkins, Ohio State's Peter Kobelt and Hunter Callahan, Tennessee's Jarryd Chaplin and Hunter Reese in action along with others. Jenkins already up 4-0 on Japan's Shuichi Sekiguchi.

Tennessee's Hunter Reese was the lucky winner of the day when his opponent, Takao Suzuki, retired while leading 6-4 4-1.
Ohio State's Hunter Callahan beat Tennessee's Jarryd Chaplin 3-6 7-5 7-5. Virginia's Jarmere Jenkins whipped Shuichi Sekiguchi 6-0 6-3. Future Duke Blue Devil Michael Redlicki beat former LSU #1 Michael Venus 7-6 6-3. Kentucky's Ryuji Hirooka got double bageled by Thomas Fabbiano #295. Hirooka didn't even crack the singles lineup for Kentucky last year so this result isn't too surprising. |
