Most Cushioned Shoe?

What does everyone think is the most cushioned shoe? I just had my meniscus removed and because I play on hard courts, want to minimize the pounding on my knee.

I currently have the GRIII (which seems to have great cushioning) and the Breathe Cage (okay cushioning).

I think my vapor 9s are really cushioned and really soft. But I haven't tried on any other shoes that have been released this year so I can't really compare them to anything else. My dad has pretty bad knee problems and uses the same shoes and says they're easier on his knees than his other shoes.

Shoes with Air Max heels like the Court Ballistecs do a great job of warding off impact, and are much thicker in the sole than other Nikes.

But why switch from Asics? If you want to stick with the brand, the GR4s look great.

Whatever shoe you get, I'f get a top of the line insole. No point taking chances after a knee op like that.

Yonex 308 is a great cushioned shoe and has great stability. I had the Asics and the Yonex are better for me. Check out the Lotto Raptor Ultra also, if you have narrow feet.

I have used the 307 and they are pretty durable. Great quality shoe. Considering the 308 is an upgrade of the 307, I would say they should be durable, considering obviously the usual wear that will come along.

By any chance have you tried the Lotto Raptor Ultra tennis shoe? By reading some reviews. it seems like a quality shoe also.
I agree Yonex is a very cushioned shoe, great quality and has good stability also.

I know they're ugly & not "cool" shoes, but I got some Prince T10 shoes; I had been having some leg pain issues and my legs have been feeling better since wearing the T10. T10's are getting hard to find, but the T22 has the same midsole and sole as the T10. Maybe check them out!

The Lottos look interesting. Anyone else have experience with them? I've only seen the Yonex shoes in pictures but they don't seem to be my cup of tea style-wise. (I know I shouldn't care but I do.)

Anyone have suggestions regarding socks or insoles as well? With no meniscus, the issue is the pounding on the knee, not stability. Therefore, my doctor recommended "no tennis" which simply wasn't an option. Accordingly, I'm trying to do anything possible, short of playing in a wheelchair, to save my knees and still play.

A lot of people use these, specialist running stores recommend these too.

Socks don't really add any shock absorption, but these are my favorite readily-available socks for blister cushioning and breathability. They are sold in 3-pair packs at just $5 pair and have far better ventilation than the more expensive Elites.

As regards the Lotto Raptors, a good friend of mine loves his and they have held up well to his grinding style at 5.0. He'll be getting another pair, just remember they do fit slightly slimmer than most.

I've found the Big Shots to be the most cushioned shoe for myself. I'm a pretty heavy guy and I always got sore feet from Vapors & Barricades after a good hitting session or match, & I've never had that prob with the K-Swiss.

As for Yonex, I got A pair of SHB-92 for badminton and they are the most comfortable shoe I've ever wore. Super cushioning so I could imagine their tennis shoe would be similar.

Hey JMcQ, let me start off by saying I'm sorry to hear about the meniscus. Have been there and done that. I have now had both knees replaced. So the doc says I shouldn't do tennis either. But you can't keep me off the courts. I have tried most of the brands out there. Trying to find the most cushioning. I have not tried the raptors though. But of all the shoes I have tried Yonex has been the best by far. I play with the 307's; not the 308's. Really love the cushioning and they are really light. Didn't like the Asics. Too heavy and not as much cushion as you would think. Give the Yonex a shot. You will get used to their looks LOL. I will also sometimes switch them out for Wilson Tour Spin II's. They have a pretty good cushion also. Hope this helps.

To me the Yonex has more cushioning. I really like the Raptors, but it's fairly obvious when you've used them both that Yonex has more cushion.

I know you're only joking, but there are shoe-repair specialty shops that sell all sorts of dyes for painting shoes.

I think it's pretty much a 3-step process. You use some chemicals to take the original coating off (rub, scrub, whatever else necessary), paint, and then you apply a coating that protects the dye.

I'm really sorry to hear about the knee replacements! If I may ask, how old were you when you had your knee replacements? Was the recovery as bad as I've heard? Now that you are presumably playing again, were the surgeries worth it?

The Prince T22s are one of the most cushioned shoes around and also the new Babolat SFXs are very cushioned too.

Singing praises of the T10 Prince again.....I had been wearing T10 for a while, then wore my B7's for a change one day. My Achilles was sore, glutes and hammies in pain. I went back to the T10's for my match on Tuesday on a hard court, and no Achilles soreness, no leg pain. I wish Prince still made the T10. Great shoes, great cushioning and support.
