Default 1992 Dream Team vs. 2012 Dream Team

I heard on the radio that Lebron James and Kobe Bryant said this year Dream Team would beat the 1992 Dream Team.

Do you agree? Which team is better ?

Player's respond to Lebron and Kobe....

Barkley: "I just started laughing"

M. Jordan: "I absolutely laughed. I imagine he's trying to say it to legitimize his own Dream Team. But to me it's not even a question what team is better,"

Magic Johnson: "I laughed as well RT @DickieV Totally agree with MICHAEL!"

Lebron, Kobe, and Durant are probably the only three guys that would have even made the 92 team.

Scottie Pippen was announces the Domican Warm up game and said they would have beaten them by 25.

The only advantage the 12 team has is speed at teh Point guard position. But if they get they run into Barkley, K Malone, Patrick Ewing, and David Robinson.

Defrensivly the 92 team is way better.

Yeah, even if those 3 did make it, it would be close. Durant or Barkley for the starting spot for instance. Pippen and James would be tight too, although I agree you'd probably have to give it to James.

It's a great team you have for 2012, i'm lucky to see them playing together here in England. The '92 team would win more often than not for sure.

...Bird.

Anyways, definately 1992 for me.

LeBron and Kobe are probably the only ones in this years team who would have made it into the 1992 squad.

Depends whether they play under a roof . . .

I'm a Kobe guy, and even I found it absolutely ridiculous. The 2012 team isn't even as good as the 2008 team!

11-0 the "real" Dream Team leads! Eat that, Kobe!

Good luck to the 2012 squad. Just don't get too cocky, ok?

The only area 2012 is better at is 3pt shooting. Even then the '92 squad could penetrate, dish out, and play more cohesively. They didn't need to shoot the 3 ball as much.

Frontcourt is a complete blowout for '92. Robinson/Ewing/Barkley/Malone/Pippen with Bird coming off for a spell would be too much for this '12 squad. Backcourt is a little more competitive, but Jordan/Magic/Drexler/Stockton with Pippen and Mullin sliding to the 2 would win out.

Laettner was just filler as '92 was already 2 HOF'ers deep at center. IMO '92 should have added Isiah Thomas/Joe Dumars and Shaq. Too bad Jordan threatened not to play if Thomas was selected. Sheesh...

I can already picture the 1992 Dream Team say:

"Come into the paint, we dare you."

Yup. Magic may not be able to consistently stay in front of CP3, but CP3 would absolutely not be able to guard a much taller Magic. A 1992 Prime Jordan vs. 2012 Kobe is not going to be much of a contest either. I don't even think the 2012 team would be able to compete against the Dream Team's bench
