That was the most incredible opening ceremony (not as 'spectacular' as Beijing), humanity, drama, humour, tragedy
- a story! Absolutely loved every minute of it and cannot wait for it to be our turn in 31 days!

I missed the show but saw some of the teams enter the stadium. They looked to be having a brilliant time.

It was fantastic wasn't it? It really was special. Kudos to Danny Boyle and Underworld.........just bloody brilliant! It lived up to it's hype and surpassed it IMO.

And we had real fireworks.......!

Plus one on that. Totally agree. The way some of the UK media were looking for negatives re Boyle's opening ceremony direction was as predictable as it proved lame. Okay, I confess to having a slight vested interest work-wise, but for me last night's ceremony was bold, quirky, innovative, all encompassing, technologically breathtaking, fun, stirring, on a mind blowing scale, highly imaginative and creative... a resounding success in my book.

Tennis tickets were sold out. Was probably just a general (and sensible) lack of interest in women's tennis.

^^^I would image a large amount of the empty seats were down to corporate/sponsors tickets too. There is a lot of pressure on corporations to utilise all their allocations or face sanctions from LOCOG.

I thought you might say that, it is a shame though, maybe the womens matches should be hosted by our own Greg Rusedski live courtside and they should play "turbo tennis". (anyone else remember that from a couple of years ago or is it just me?)

Now is it wrong i'm considering buying a new racquet because it matches a bag i have that i like?

If you want the women's tennis to be full, you need to get rid of the ugly ones and have the rest play in the same outfits as the beach volleyball players.

Haha...

Which female player has, er, "impressed" you the most from all the tournaments you've strung at?

You can still watch it on red button or through BBC website

I've got Centre Court tickets tomorrow to hopefully see the Muzzatron!

Just back from the rowing at Eton Dorney, absolutely brilliant! Great organisation to get people in and out efficiently, awesome venue and some good action - our mens 4 vs the Aussies could be epic!

Cheers

The commentators for the Olympic tennis seem to think the best of 3 format will dramatically change things and that players the men have never played such short matches before, seemingly forgetting that best of 3 is actually the standard format the players use for the majority of the year.

It's conceivable that there could be a Chinese athlete called Do Ping.

GB won a gold in rowing. Suddenly everyone cares about rowing despite not having given a sh*t about it for the last four years.

They played the first match on Centre at Wimbledon today with the roof on, which was a good idea considering the weather. Then they spend loads of time opening it for the next match, only for it to rain again. Why not keep it closed the whole time and make sure all the matches scheduled get done and maybe add another one on at the end of the day?
