Those come every year.

O comes once in 4 years. A true champion like Nadal was ready whenever it came.

So why has he never been ready for the WTFs, since they happen every year?

Federer has also never won a Davis Cup for Switzerland, whilst Rafa has helped Spain win the event many times. It's obvious that Federer just isn't much of a team player as Rafa is (the Olympic doubles gold medal being his only noteworthy 'team' performance)

LOL doubles gold is half a gold medal. Only losers play doubles.

A full year of butt picking creates numerous side effects including a tear in the fabric of the space time continuum exactly when the WTF starts.

Good point. Doubles tennis is not an individual sport. I rank it as about equivalent to winning a Davis Cup (Nadal played the winning rubber in 2011).

Make sure you tweet that info to Alex Jones, I'm sure he will be happy to include it on his website.

Good point.

Apart from O singles gold and superior H2H, Rafa also has a winning DC record which Fed does not. Another reason Fed cannot be GOAT unless he wins London.

I think Federer's oft expressed ardent desire and motivation to win the Olympics Singles is at fault for having made it an event with a higher perceived stature than it actually deserves. Otherwise had Federer been as ho-hum and yawnish about the Olympics as Sampras, no one would be making as big a deal out of it as the ***** are doing. I, for one, am not even following the Olympics, let alone the tennis at the event -- this is of how little consequence, a Federer or Djok event means to me.

GOAT discussions have lost the credibility once the media, nike and other sponsors started taking over and portrayed federer and nadal as GOATs.......

90% are just casual followers who blindly vote for federer or nadal.......

i think the GOAT concept ended with sampras.......the game is too easy for top players these days and i seriously can't consider anybody from this generation as an outright GOAT.......

As far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter if he wins in London. This is his fourth attempt at it now after three failures. But Rafa is a fast learner; after losing early at Wimbledon in 2005 (still got further than Federer did in his first Wimbledon), made every final for each tournament he participated in from 2006-2011, and boasts a 52-1 record at Roland Garros (to which Federer's records at the other grand slams do not even come close).

If Fed isn't GOAT, then a former player is.

To claim that Rafa is competing for that designation or even top 5 is laughable. Rafa probably isn't even top 10 on the GOAT list.

Rafa is definitely the better player, we all know that. It is a matter of deciding in a few days if Federer, who has played much longer than Rafa, can be currently called the GOAT.
