I would place a serious wager on the marathon as well. I would be willing to wager that a pro tennis players (especially the top players) endurance if far greater than any pro running back.
running backs train for explosive power and speed, but not necc for endurance. not to mention rbacks dont play every down.

Genetic inheritage definitively has a lot to do with how a person looks. Fed can try a lot of weight lifting, but may never have the same bicep size as Rafa, not that's what he wants anyway. Second, tennis requires a lot of short but explosive movements and over a long period of time (long rallies, long matches). So a player has to make some kind of trade-offs between being overly muscular, lean, and endurant, etc. In general, the lighter you are the better your movements are maintained, and the easier it's on your joints. IMO, Fed and other top players kind of figure out already what their range of ideal weight is and they try to maintain it. On top of that, one's style of play also comes in play in term of helping someone to remain injury-free. Fed and perhaps a few other players, Edberg comes to my mind, have very good footwork so they look like they glide over instead of running or shuffling on the courts like us the mere mortals.

Nads and Fed are kind of fat, BAHAHAHAHA, and I thought you had lost your mind previously, no doubt about it now.

fed has very biomechanically efficient game, esp his serve which isnt overly straining on his back (big problem for a lotta players). his game is also not overly reliant on movement. strong serve means he can dictate pts with n reduce the amt of running he needs to do. no big surprise he has had longevity

training wise i am sure his emphasis on footwork n stretchin help but the big advantage is his playing style

nadz is a far superior athlete to fed but wont have anywhere near his longevity solely due 2 playing style

So? Make them run some circuit, Change direction all the time etc. Besides you making stuff up (100 twice as fast; marathon faster) it is not all about strength. Tennis players are extremely fast on 10 meter sprints, are amazingly flexible and balanced.

That's just plain stupid. Not to mention that 100m/marathon times are completely useless to both running backs and tennis players.

I saw a documentary about Federer 2-3 years ago. In one of his practices he was pushing (tossing?) very heavy balls over the net (basket ball size or bigger), first, vs one guy, then vs two, and finally against three opponents. It was a one-touch motion. Playing against three of them Federer covered the entire net. He never missed a ball or mishit it. The three guys looked tired at the end of this session. Federer was laughing merrily and talking to the coach (Paganini?) throughout the session.

Does anybody knows what this exercise trains?

Roger Craig, the Pro Bowl-nominated, Superbowl-winning running back for the SF '49ers, has a best marathon time of 3'50".[source] That's ten minutes slower than... Amelie Mauresmo.[source]

but, Clarky, what are you talking about darhling? Fed is so hairy and that nose, OMG, just gross, only Mirka and his mom can love that hairy thing with a big nose. Cvac is perfect, tall, lean, lanky, beautiful green eyes ... Murray too, beautiful teeth, lovely hair ... Rafa is like, no class, no manners, can't even speak English, IQ 75 maybe (uncle Tony thinks for him because Rafa can not think), ... not sure what is with you women nowadays, ... I'm straight but I find both Djesus and Murray to be like 100 x better looking than Ballerina and your Clay piggy ...

Clarky, I hope you still love me, but I question your taste in men ... so disappointed with you. smarten up, or you'll never get married (you'll get desparate and marry ***, no I don't want to see that, I still hope there are some options for you)

It will train our body to move or prepare for next after making explosive strokes.
