Okay I know Delpo lost and Murray won... but who do you think PERFORMED better today. Like if Murray had to play Delpo instead and Delpo was playing at the same level of tennis serving hard and hitting cleanly do you think Murray would have still won? or do you think if he plays at the same level when he plays Fed it would be good enough to take the gold?

Murray played better than Federer.
DelPotro played better than Murray. Djokovic played the worst.

If Murray wins gold on Sunday, he would still be considered to have been owned by Federer, and if Del Potro had played him he would theoretically have beaten Murray in the final unless, of course, Murray had actually played him which would result in Murray increasing his winning H2H with Del Potro to 6-1 but still owning Murray.
And obviously if Djokovic had played Murray in the final instead of the semi final, then Djokovic would have beaten Murray. Murray was lucky to be clinical enough to finnish Djokovic off in straight sets instead of a marathon 3 setter 19-17 last set match. |

I'm just hoping for calmer winds on Sunday. Blustery conditions are the worst when it comes to quality tennis.

I think Federer peformed slightly better than Del Potro (well he won, didn't he?)
I think Federer, Murray and Del Potro all performed better than Djokovic.

I totally agree with this. Murray was on Fi-AHHHH today. Man, the boy can serve and his ground strokes are just steady. If he plays the way he does today and Fed plays the way he did today in the Finals, GBR is getting the Gold. Especially since Murray is gonna be so pumped up by the crowd in london.

I thought the Djoko/Murray match was excellent. The sheer speed of the game made the Del Potro/Federer match look as though they were two old guys playing and this surprised me because I really thought Federer would take it in two sets or three sets but not the overflow that came at the end

Murray played the best out of the 4 semi finalists yesterday. He maintained his level throughout, performed in the clutch moments and was consistently aggressive. Exactly what we want to see from him in the big matches.

It was funny how Del Potro only broke Federer's serve once in the final set (and it was to love I think), and it was the game after Federer broke Del Potro. I don't the timing was a coincidence.
