What model racket did you lose. What condition was it in?

In that case, I would price out what a new one costs from TW delivered to you (with any applicable CA sales tax), print it out and hand it to the kid's dad or mom and tell them that you expect them to make this right since little Bobby lost your racket. Should be about $200.

^ I don't know his parents, and it'd be weird to go over there and just screw him and leave. Really in making this thread i was hoping for alot of happy ending solutions, is unfreinding unavoidable.

Seriously-- whatever you do, don't make any friendship or relationship decisions based on advice from this site. Nobody here knows you or your friend. Nobody knows how much the racquet or the friendship means to you, and nobody knows how likely your friend actually is to replace the racquet. Just make up your own mind! |

The OP is about 15. We know this from his epic Woodie thread in the Classic Racket Section. PK, if you don' t feel comfortable doing what I suggested maybe your mom or dad could call his parents. I doubt your friend has $200 laying around to buy you a new racket. Your best bet is to go through the parents. It may be a lost cause regardless but if his parents are good people, they should get you a replacement racket of your choosing. And don't lend your stuff out again to irresponsible people. It never ends well. Last edited by Fearsome Forehand : 07-17-2012 at 09:11 PM. |

How far were you into your next match when you noticed it was missing?
For the record, make him pay for it.

I'll take it up with his coach because he's the one who suggested i give it to him (friend) to give it to the coach who would string it for me.

I wouldn't think the coach would be too interested in getting of the middle of this issue.
I'd say it's "ultimatum time." Take the previous advice of printing off racket info and price from TW, give a copy to your 'friend' and clearly state that if you don't see cash or proof of order by _____ (Friday?) it goes to his parents with the whole sad story. If he still weasels, you can still decide to just drop it (and him) if you really don't want to push it. |

He also mentioned a happy ending.
http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=429435 ^This is the thread in question. You can't make this stuff up. PK, the other kid is not going to compensate you. Either have your mom and dad handle it, or do what I suggested earlier. If his dad is a stand up guy, he will compensate you. Again, don't lend stuff to irresponsible people. No good deed goes unpunished. For all you know, he didn't lose the racket but decided to keep it and simply tell you he lost it hoping you would let the matter go. He could have sold it to someone else. Who knows? Even if he lost it, he should compensate you. Last edited by Fearsome Forehand : 07-20-2012 at 08:35 PM. |

my parents are just laugh every time i mention this, and when i press on they just get angry. So I have to take care of it, i'm talking to his coach about it because i kinda know him. If nothing happens soon then i guess i'm gonna have to go to his parents... I hope something happens...
