Default Point celebration in Table Tennis

Watching some amazing Table Tennis in the Olympics.. one thing that is interesting is how the players celebrate all of their points including unforced errors of opponent...which is considered unsportsmanlike in Tennis

What is it that they are saying when they celebrate the point?
ofc some say differently, the most of them seem to say something like "chhhooii" or "yyooo"

i dunno, I almost want say there are no "unforced" errors in table tennis because of the crazy amount of spin on the ball the players put on every shot.

like "easy" looking slow shots could have a varying degree of backspin on them, not lifting enough = net, lifting too much = out of bounce.

They don't do it in a in-your-face way by looking at the opponent.

In table tennis, unforced errors are kind of rare - the error is forced by the spin and other characterisitics of the opponent.

So basically Ana Ivanovic would fit right in.

Expect her abnormally large forehead (some owuld call it a fivehead) and medicore talent.

I agree that unforced errors are rare in TT. It's generally a mis-read on the spin coming at them.

lol.. 'fivehand' ... ya she does have some word (or sound she makes) which is sorta unique in tennis .. doies she celebrate UE's too? .. this started in tennis by Hewitt (making him the least liked #1 player in his own country) and many more now (I think Davis cup is to blame for some extent there)

agreed unforced errors are not as straightforward as in tennis...but there are unforced errors for sure and they're celebrated by the opponents in an extreme fashion

They don't play nearly as many points as a tennis match. Each point is worth that much more.

I always figured they were sorta close to points played. Its just TT happens so much faster.

But I guess you are right. best of five 10pt games could be a 30 point min. best of 3 sets would be 48 pts min.

they are 11 point games and best of 7 for men if we are talking olympics.

they can go to best of 9 for other tournaments.

After seeing lot of table tennis matches at this Olympics, think I figured out why they do it... it's not a celebration of the UE ... but a clear physiological ploy to sort of gain a mental advantage
