sweet goodness. sounds like youve created a really nice frame. hopefully the open pattern and soft flex will tame the mass and larger specs. i bet it will hit a heavy ball, thats for sure.

Oh yeah! That's what I'm hoping for as well! I think a RA of 70 would be just a bit too wild, but with the softer flex it should hit a super heavy shot.

^^ Having played with a number of 70 flex Vantage frames (the initial Angell frames are not expected to differ from Vantage except cosmetically), you would find them anything but wild. 70 is the unstrung flex spec, meaning perhaps 67 strung, always felt like 65 or 66 to me. Found plenty of control in those 100 sq. in 70 frames.

Have you played a 63 stiffness? With your comments I'm wondering if it would feel closer to 60 which would be even better for my arm!

My current racquet is the prince exo3 tour, no power, and it is so flexible that it actually hurts my arm, tried the bc20 and it was even worse, wondering if I should go with 63 or 70 since stringing would make it more flexible, there is a serious lack of pop from these fexible frames and when I'm in a match in the third set that extra pop seriously helps but it is by def not worth any arm or wrist pain, out of tennis for a week with a wrist pain from overly flexible frames

Take 63 stiffness. I sold the bc20 because of the same reason. The 63 is more solid and very armfriendly and plenty of power as well.

I've hit with the 63s, yes they feel extremely soft, should be like butter for your arm.

I think you are right but I have a more important decision to make, red bumper guard or blue bumper guard.

@racketdesign,

Any chance of an RA rating of 68 coming out to supplant the 70? 68 is essentially 65 when strung, right? Just the perfect amount of power and flex for the general public imo.

In any case, there's always the 63, which is essentially a 60 when strung for those who prefer lower.

"make a 68 flex as well as a 70 flex"...."make a 98 inch as well as a 100 inch"....one needs to understand that this is not Wilson or Head but a relatively small mom-and-pop, maybe not even mom, business that can't carry the variety of inventory that a large corporation can.

It would be better to see more options for current headsizes over more headsizes. Such as more string pattern options for for 100 and 105 headsizes. As well as swingweight selection options for all.

But this is still a "custom-racquet" company. A couple more racquet head sizes and flexes is not an unreasonable request.

If Angell/Vantage does not want to offer a variety, they might as well start offering customizing services for racquets of any brand like Priority 1 or RPNY do.

Maybe I am missing something. Does Angeli operate pretty much in the same way as Vantage? So, aside from color-schemes and grip shapes, the customer is still selecting from an inventory of racquets with fixed specs. How is that custom?

One important factor left out is the length. But other than that, you nailed it. The choices are quite limited.

Take their 95"...... It's available in 2 stiffnesses, 2 string patterns, 5 lengths, 13 weight balance options, 3 handle shapes. That's 780 different possible rackets. Without mentioning grip and bumper colours. Doesn't sound too limited to me!

The options are very varied indeed, if you understand the difference between them. Here's hoping they are around when it's time for me to rekit.
