To get people to buy the "new and improved" model, sell more racquets, and make more money.

Maybe they can finally build a pure storm tour plus that doesn't give me tennis elbow....I would buy 6 just for starters....

They already have one. I think Pro Kennex sells it.

Great racquet that needs an infusion of technology to keep it current. Not that it would be better than the old one but hate to see the only line that feels solid without customization to it disappear due to slow sales.

Odd, since I find the PST+ GT to be among the more arm-friendly racquets I've ever hit with, and I've played with a ton of sticks. According to TW University numbers, it has among the lowest racquet vibration frequency #s for racquets available on the market. That said, as nice as the stick plays, I can see how the extended length / really high swingweight may cause issues if the player frequently catches the ball late as it's not the easiest racquet to quickly get around.

Extended length racquets will take some time to get use to like the above op mentioned. I never got comfortable hitting with extended racquets and you must put in the time and effort to get use to it.

Not reliable or credible at all by the sounds of things. He (beckerdx) has made quite a few iffy posts now about Babolat products that bear no relation to official or intended product announcements.

Personally, I think he's a sham and has no official connection to Babolat at all.

My Pure Storm Tour GT racquets helped me overcome golfers elbow. I think the fact that stiffness is not high and the woofer grommet system probably also softens the hit.

No new Pure Storms 2013. Heard straight from Babolat.

Its also easy to see because IF there was to be any new for 2013 we would have seen the first samples of them by now...

Glad no new racquet till 2014 otherwise it's going to be more money spent on racquets.

Default Replacement for Pure Control

Okay, this is an old racquet. I haven't been paying attention to the new racquets buy mine is now 7 years old and I think I might need a new one. I tend to scrape the ground too much, probably picking up balls.

Which Babolat racquet replaces the Pure Control? I like my old Control because it's head light yet fairly heavy overall. I understand this is what makes it easy on my arm. At least, I haven't had arm problems since I started using it.

Would love to hear any suggestions.

Thanks!

I am not the only one to experience this....check out the reviews on the racquet...to be fair I have it strung it with a full poly in the low 60s, but I find I am launching the ball into space if I go with anything lower...I tend to prefer low powered player frames that allow me to supply all the juice myself. For the last few summers I keep thinking I will try it out and I manage to make it about a week before te makes me give it up.

I have a Pure Control Team version which is the predecessor to the Pure Storm and Pure Storm GT series. They all do a good job of balancing the racquet and offering a solid feel. The Pure Control is a stiffer than the Pure Storm GT and to me, feels a bit harsher on the arm. It is more solid when returning serve bombs and volleying but I like the plush feel of the Pure Storm GT series more and willing to trade a bit more solid feel for one that feels plush.

How reliable is this guy, babolat staff havent tended to pop up withposts like this in the past to my knowlage, is the info legit?

Send Babolat a message on twitter or facebook, and I will respond and try to answer your questions or put you in touch with the product team.

This guy isnt even stating correct facts about the babolat line, the pure has a thinner beam than the aero pro and also feels thinner just because its a box beamed raquet?[/quote]

Feel is subjective, I'm simply talking about beam widths:

Pure Drive: 23.5/26/22.5mm
Aeropro Drive: 23/26/24mm
Aerostorm: 21.5/21mm
Pure Storm: 21mm
Pure Storm Limited: 19mm

Historically, "classic" racquets have had thinner beams. Some players like the way a thicker beam plays, some don't. We try to make products that address the needs of all tennis players.

You're certainly quick to judgement! It's no wonder that manufacturers don't post here, with that sort of reception.

Cheers,
