Default Strings for a Prince EXO3 Tour 16 x 18

After hee-hawing around for days on the forum, think I'm going to order the 16 x 18. Been staring at the string selector for days but can't decide on a multi to try. Thinking about PPA 16 at 58#?

Not sure your style and level of play, but as a Prince Tour 16x18 guy myself, I know the thing absolutely eats your average multis with its open string pattern and string port system. I'm only a 4.0 player, but I hit with a lot of topspin with my semi-western forehand so that adds to things as well.

PPA is not your average multi. It will last twice as long as most of them, so if you like multis, that's probably a good one for starters.

Personally, I found the EXO3 Tour 100 so flexible that it was hard for me to control it with soft strings. I played better when using poly, but I knew I didn't want to do that because of my arm, so I picked another frame.

I've used all poly, multi/poly, and gut poly. I'm currently using plain old syngut and digging it.

It was darn near impossible for me to find a string that worked in the tour 16x18. The ones I really liked were black5edge/thunderblast in the low fifties or signum pro poly plasma (regular or hex) in the mid to low forties.

I use this racquet and honestly hate all multi in it. In hybrids it is good, either main or cross. This racquet is terrible with them because the open pattern eats them up bad. Currently break all poly in like two or three days. I used a hybrid but got too costy and went all poly. Just my opinion.

All poly scares me a bit. Got a touch of TE last year. Mostly better now with better technique. Would the low flex of EXO soften the poly stiffness? Played 16 ga BV in a Wilson Pro Open at 55# so maybe a 17 ga "something else poly/co-poly" at a lighter tension?

Looks like most if not all junior players at the open were using prince beast, at least three or four. (Although it might be provided free for the players - that I don't know)

The only prince sponsored kid I've met said he received his string for free.

Rabbit, what synthetic gut(s) are you currently using?

The 2 strings that have worked really well for me in these frames are 1. Big Banger Original 1.30 strung @ 48 lbs and Prince Beast XP 17g @ 46 lbs. I found these frames fairly string and tension sensitive.
