What are those 2 guys doing right now? I herad Vilas runs an academy in Baires, but the guy is so incredibly curious that he has gonne through writting, painting, music...is he dating somebody or married?

As for Connors, he does some TV commentating and has been involved in pro coaching.But I don´t know much more...Hope he is still married to the charming Patty ( the nicest looking tennis fiancee that I can remember of, even more than Agassi´s Brooke Shields¡¡¡)

Vilas is married and has a daughter (5 years old I think, he was already pretty old when she was born).

Good to know.Thanks.I watched the You Tube series of interviews with Vilas, which discussed almost any detaill of the tour back then, a total of 30 or 40 minutes of Vilas...and it was delicious.

Vilas has 3 daughters ! I think 8, 3, and 1 years old. He has the Vilas Club in Buenos Aires and the Vilas tennis Academy in Palma de Majorque. I think he prepares a book. And he prepares his first daughter to be a professionnal !! :

Incidentally, Lendl is included in the chronicle.Lendl and Vilas had an extremely interesting clay court rivalry at the beginning of the 80´s.

It is pretty clear that McEnroe is the best player in his 50s followed by Borg (and in 3 years time it will Edberg)
But what about 60 and above ?
It would have to be Connors or Vilas wouldn't it ?
Any other possibilities ?

You are right. I forgot about Lendl. He seemed to catch up pretty quick once he joined the vets tour. But considering the number of matches he (Mac) plays each year (and the number he wins) it is hard to go past Mcenroe in the 50-60 bracket

Guillermo Vilas met his Thai wife in Thailand. I got the story from a Thai news reporter. Vilas saw her eating at the mall and approached her and with his Latin charms ending up marrying her. The first time he brought her to Argentina months later, she and he were swarmed by media and fans. She had no idea what was going on. Vilas had never told her who he was. Amazing story. What a humble classy guy. Love Vilas.
