And he is in top form, so I really don't think it will happen next year either. If anything, Fed's stellar form could drop a bit next year even in best of 3. By the way, kind of off topic but I've just realized Djoko has never beaten Murray during summer hard court!! They played once in Canada and Murray won, twice in Cincy and Murray won and now once in USO and Murray won. Djoko only dominates slow hard courts: AO and Miami. I would love a Rafa/Murray domination of the tour in 2013. I hope it happens but it all depends on how well Rafa can recover. I definitely don't believe Fed will ever dominate the slams again. It's completely up to him when to pull the plug but I know if I were him, I wouldn't wait too long at this point. He achieved his "post 30" goals: getting an Olympic medal, 1 more slam and the #1 ranking back. It's all downhill from here and I would leave while still on top if I were him (maybe at the end of next year or after AO 2014).
Kinda hard to keep reading after seeing that.

Murray CANNOT beat nadal on clay or even hardcourt. If he runs into him at any point of a slam, the bets are crossed against him. Murray is celebrating, but it's the same celebration that Fed did in 09 at FO. I understand Djok is a much better finals opponent than soderling, but the main point is Nadal was a no show. If he's in, murray won't even take 2 sets in a slam event off him.

You aren't supposed to see it coming.

I think if Nadal is a bit off his game he can lose to Murray at the AO or USO, but at Wimbledon and Roland Garros I don't think Murray will ever beat Nadal. Grass rewards the more aggressive player, and that is Nadal. And clay rewards Nadal, period.

Nadal is a goner.

Federer still has potential. I foresee him winning 1-2 slams and surpassing Nadal's Masters titles by a considerable margin. But he will never dominate the tour like he did during the 04-07 period.

Isn't it more likely that Fed is winding down and we see Rafa and Murray as the new rivalry. I'm beginning to think, Rafa, after some time out may find more motivation than Djokovic who is aiming at not much really. He's stuck between being established but not getting up there with the Sampras of this world.
Only think I can see him wanting badly is the career slam with RG.

Yes. As an aside, I do think no other rivarly will match Rafa/Rog, as much as I like watching Rafa, Rafa/Murray just will never have the gloss of the aforementioned.

I agree, the personalities are a great contrast in Fedal rivalry. Everything is contrasted perfectly.

Plus Murray Nadal are really good friends, so less spice in the battle.
