Hm. . . . Silicone might be the best side option with the Replacement grip.

I've been using Wilson Shock Shield. At first, it disturbed me a little that the thickness enlarged the grip by about half a size. However, it does seem to have shrunk down to something closer to a normal grip, and it's still very comfortable. TW sold them in sets of 3 for a very low price, and I'm glad I bought it. On the downside, every grip I bought had some blemishes along the sides that made it look sloppy. However, since I use an overgrip, this cosmetic flaw is not a big deal for me.
It does seem to improve comfort and shock in exchange for a slightly muted feel, but I have a Pro Kennex Kinetic frame. I think the Pure Drive will be more harsh no matter what grip you put on it, but if you have soft strings and a well cushioned grip, it might not be that bad. |

Do you think Wilson stays its shape and size for a long time ?

Pretty fast. I'd say it's noticably smaller after about 2 hours of hitting. For me, I just think of that as break-in time (like trying on a new pair of tennis shoes). I have to endure a couple hours of tennis with a larger grip, but then it settles in to the size I wanted.

Doesn't it bother you that the grip keeps shrinking while playing or day to day, keeps getting smaller and smaller and keeps changing. That is just too weird feeling to me.

It would bother me if it kept changing, but it doesn't. After the initial break-in period it stays the same size, and that works for me.

and initial breakin period is only 2 hours ? that seems fast. GAmma Pro RX grip, i had been using takes like 4-6 weeks of play before it shrinks so much, it stops shrinking. That is a long time to keep adjusting your feel

I've only used it for about 2 weeks, so I can't say for sure it won't shrink more. However, I know it's not shrinking fast like it did initially, and I know it doesn't have much longer to go because it already feels pretty close to the size of my original grip already.

I've used the gamma pro rx and the wilson shock shield grip. shock shield is better hands down. On the gamma pro rx your grip feels somewhat contoured due to the way gamma constructed the small middle gel part. The wilson shock shield has more gel and gives a more damped feel, it is basically superior in every way except that the gel is not visible.
I've personally discovered that i love leather though. |

nastradamus - did you end up buying the wilson shock shield grip/gamma pro rx grip. If you've tried both which did you prefer?,
in terms of comfort, durability/good for sweat, can you still feel the bevel, vibration, feeling etc As i was also looking at the wilson shock shield, but reading this the gamma looks attractive thanks

and i put back on the Gamma pro RX on my racket because i found some leftover in my closet from before. and miracle of all miracles, my shoulder doesn't hurt anymore. I hit for 3 hours and my shoulder has no pain. Before when i had the regular thin grip on there, i couldn't even open the door after hitting for 2 hours. So this stuff does work. Only thing i hate about is that it keep shrinking smaller and smaller every time i play a match. It is a feeling i just Hate. but if the trade off is no pain then i have no choice.

Anyone who wants no dampening (or damping) of the shockwave has simply gotten used to feeling that shock and equates it to simply being part of playing tennis. Those who have experimented with different setups prefer to have less shockwave "feel" as it provides no feedback other than the ball has been struck. Some thoughts in this thread: http://tt.tennis-warehouse.com/showthread.php?t=423443

![]() i am just wondering if you had to compare these both to Gamma pro RX grip. which will shrink down more ? From the looks of the schock shield, it isn't as thick as the Gamma pro RX. Gamma pro RX is pretty thick and shrinks down over even up to 4-6 weeks. but from the look of the pic above Wilson one doesn't seem to be as thick ? am i correct ?
