wilson BLX Juice Pro vs. Pure Drive

Does the Wilson feel as hollow as the Pure Drive?

They feel similar, yeah. Well many racquets feel hollow without a dampener in my opinion, but the Juice Pro is similar in terms of feel. It might feel slightly more dampened due to Wilson's new tech but I actually prefer it over the PD.

Nor does the Pure Drives IMO...
It depends on string set ups, tension, etc..
I do prefer the Juice over the PD.

The Juice Pro feels nothing like the Pure Drives. Hollow is the last term I would use to describe feeling of the Juice Pro. It is a solid stick.

Certainly not the pre-2012 PD, which has that typical Babolat slightly hollow/tinny feel. The JP is a significantly more solid feeling.

The 2012 PD would be a better comparison - though you're still talking big differences in weight - and the 2012 PDR better still in terms of comparison, but in all cases, the JP is still the more solid feeling stick.

Personally, I'd prefer it if the JP had a fraction more flex in the throat so you can feel the head whipping through the contact zone rather than the whole racquet swinging as one piece. That said it's still not as stiff as the PD/PDRs. Wilson QC remains an issue in all cases. TW matching remains a must.

The Juice Pro and PD 2012 don't even seem comparable - the JP is 11.9oz, 96sq in, 336 SW, slightly extended length, etc.. The Juice (100) seems much more comparable. In stock form its a bit too light in the head and a bit unstable imo, I prefer the playing characteristics of the PD in stock. But with some lead on the hoop I prefer the more solid, dampened, and vibe free feel of the Juice over the PD series.

The PD with 8" of lead tape added to each side of the hoop, extending upwards to the top of the hoop is plenty solid and plows through the ball with ease. It does feel a little hollow in stock form but I don't seem to play any racquet in stock form any more.

^^ I leaded up the PD2012 as well to with about 9-10gm in the hoop, counterbalanced, + leather grip, still a PDR and Juice 100 both leaded felt more solid to me.

Fair enough, I have no Juice or PDR to compare to. I went with the PD because I knew I could add weight to it without increasing the SW too much. I have kept the balance at stock (with counter balance) and just added weight to the hoop which makes it more solid. I tried leather on it but didn't like the harsh feed back it offered. Also tried tail weighting it, what a disaster that was!

Juice Pro isn't anywhere close to a hollow feel racquet....indeed Pure Drive feels hollow and also I got some elbow pain from it....in just few days that I had the demo

Juice Pro has a smaller head and is over 20 grams heavier than the PD and more than 5 over the PDR so they're not really alike racquets.

Both felt equally solid to me. Juice pro had more plow through, but after several sets of testing became to heavy and not maneuverable enough for me. PD 2012 was the next best thing but at 308 was not enough stick to do the job. Bought a pair and had them matched and wound up with a 324 SW and 2 pts head light. Solid as a rock and does everything very well. I always liked 6-10pts head light but no problem with serves or poaching at the net. One of the best sticks I have owned.

An APDC would feel solid to you. Doesn't mean it actually is solid.

Two very different sticks. I would say the 2012 Pure Drive is less hollow feeling than the previous versions, but it still feels hollow compared to the Juice Pro to me. The Juice Pro would be my choice of racquet if I wasn't so concerned about the specs varying so much from racquet to racquet.

No need to be concerned. That is what the TW matching service is all about. My two Juice Pros are exactly identical in spec thanks to TW.
