Prince hasn't gone out of business, merely Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which effective allows the company to re-finance & sold on.

I was told that once the new umbrella company took over Prince they re-signed most of their players, except but not limited to Monfils.

Make that what you want.

Regards

Paul

Monfils is the epitome of relaxed power. Shame his body does not hold up better...

There is a rumor about 2 Blade versions: 1) 18x20; and 2) 16x19 - did you see both? weight, beam width, et al the same? thanks

Yeah, it was horrible, but I liked how it hit. If it also distracted my opponent, then it's a bonus - I never really noticed the ugly in the middle of the match.

Does anyone know if the new blade 98 will have a stock swingweight that is more like the K-Blade or the BLX Blade?

Did they show off the blade 93 as well? That's what I'm more interested in... glad to see Wilson has another heavyweight in their line up on the men's side.

I'd love to know the full specs on it?? If Wilson offers an 18X20 & a 16X19 in the 98, I'd definitely pick up the 16X19!

The headshape of the racquet Gael is holding in that picture sure does look an awful lot like a HEAD shaped racquet.

If they can get the 93" Blade flexier and thinner, I'd be very interested.

I was actually surprised to see two of Monfils' serves that hit 225kph on the gun (140 MPH). Never knew he could serve that big. That's Roddick/Raonic/Isner/Karlovic territory!!!

I did a racquet testing for Wilson in the spring. Since they are all blacked out, I had to ask what it was, since I liked it. I was told that it was the new Blade. The frame I tested was also 16x19. The head looked more square, not oval like the current Blades. Also the beam had more boxy edge to them, not rounded. Looked to be 21~22mm beam width, definitely wider than current blades. Felt like a lighter frame but had decent swingweight. Surprisingly powerful with flexy feel. It did have annoying vibrations, which they said would be fixed for the production models.

Nope, They passed out the new 98s that were personalized with each stringers name on the frame...nice touch by Wilson. Sick looks and feels just like the current Blade BLX 98 except the ampifeel logo on the side of the frame.
