I just have no idea what to think of our team right now. We haven't played anyone (effing Kansas State...), and we lost two of our best and most experienced players (Boyett and York) to injuries. USC looks beatable, but they also might go on an EFF YOU! tear through the conference. They're definitely talented enough. Stanford all of a sudden looks terrifying, though we've had their number the last two years. The Pac all of a sudden looks interesting...Arizona scores at will, UCLA looks legit, Oregon State plays very solid defense, and obviously the big three trio of Oregon, SC and Stanford make the top half of the conference very legit. We'll see who comes through. In all seriousness, I don't see anyone beating Bama/LSU for the title. Bama specifically has made good teams look absolutely silly. I'm sick of the SEC domination, but there's not a question about who the best league is. |

Clemson is giving up way too many yards against the likes of Auburn who needed overtime to beat Louisiana-Monroe at home this weekend, Ball State and Furman. The Clemson D seems to tighten up once the opponent gets close to scoring though. Still, that is not good to give the opponents so much time with the ball. That does not give our offense enough time to score against the likes of FSU.
I think we will see a shootout like last year but unless Clemson wins the turnover battle by 2 or 3, the Clemson D just is not going to be up to the task this year. Our speed guys seem to torch FSU lately, so hopefully that is the case this year. I have to watch the game Saturday with 2 FSU alums, so hopefully they don't blow us out. |

The difference I see between FSU this year and last year is that our running game is FAR FAR better. It's like night and day, and our Oline is just far better as well. I think we will run it and set up the 20 yard passes. I know clemson was giving us that last year and we will take those all day with this fleet of WRs we have.
On defense so far I have been much more impressed with our DBs over last year. It is like losing Greg Reid is a good thing because now Darby gets to play and he is like glue on people. The clemson game is going to show a lot of things, but right now from what I have seen, I think we have a team that can compete for a NT as long as our QB just executes and makes the right decisions.

Twin 52-0 beatdowns of conference foes by 'Bama & FSU! I'm hoping both stay in the title hunt to the end. Jimbo knows a bit about SEC powerball and what it takes to stop it. Let's hope the horses he need stay healthy.

UCLA looks better than they have in many years. Offensive attack was a machine against Nebraska. It's only dreaming on my part but I would love to seem them beat USC. The top SEC teams have rough games coming up. Georgia probably has the easiest path with only two top 10 opponents in the gamecocks and gators. SC has Georgia, LSU and Florida back to back to back and finishes with Clemson...Ouch. Bama and LSU play early November and might get another rematch for the title game. As for my Cats, Barnhart is hearing whispers of Bobby Petrino at UK.

I have such a love/hate relationship with the SEC. I respect the football, but it gets old seeing them dominate. I think Alabama would hold their own against the Cleveland Browns right now, but they have a brutal schedule this year...We'll see if they can navigate it with only one loss (12-1 gets them or LSU into the title game imo). Petrino at UK? Whoooo boy get ready for some scandals! Bobby P will find some co ed that he fancies and put her on his motorcycle. Where have I heard this story before... |

I understand your love/hate with the SEC. It's like USA basketball in the Olympics for me. I know I'm supposed to cheer for them but wouldn't be devastated if they were upset.

I kind of knew USC wasn't all that. They could still win their division, but I'm still not impressed with Barkley. Stanford and Oregon are the PAC-12's best hopes this year.
I just want to see a non-SEC team (excluding the Big-12) win the title.

Saturday Night ABC national game at the Doak...this has to be the biggest spotlight for the Noles in a decade! Let's hope they can keep the mo going...I'm dreaming but it would be great if they can lower that atrocious 1.0 PPGA stat into a decimal (0.75)!

Another year, another early loss by the most overrated school in CFB, AKA Virginia Tech. Sorry, I just have to rub it in, their fans (most of them) act as if they're on the same level as Bama or LSU when Beamer hasn't won jack squat as far as national prominence is concerned.
Yeah they make it to BCS games every year but mostly bc the ACC has been a joke and a cakewalk (though FSU seems to be back). Losing to Pitt, the same Pitt that got romped by Youngstown St? soy loves to say LOL @ND, but in lieu of that since the Irish seem to be back, big time LOL @the Hokies. And an additional LOL@ Lame Kiffin. |

3rd longest bowl streak in history post season every year since '93, behind only Florida and FSU in consecutive appearances 3rd best record in the last 10 years, behind only LSU and Boise St 8 conference championships 3-2 in ACC championship games 7 top 10 finishes since '93 and top 25 all but two years since '93 virtually devoid of major scandals and recruiting violations

Beamer's built a good but not great program. Certainly not deserving of the national hype and high preseason rankings they get every year before inevitably losing to the first decent team they play. And it's not like VA is devoid of talent as far as recruiting. You're the Atlanta Braves of CFB, only you've never even won the big one and only made it there once. So yeah, I'm sure most major programs would be ecstatic with that as their reputation. |

You're comparing yourself to MD, UNC, and UVA in football? LOL at that, come on we all know those programs stink at football. Tech should dominate the ACC with how FSU and Miami have been down the past few years.
Even as weak as the ACC is Tech can't even manage to get through it unbeaten and get to a NC game at all? Oh and no one cares about not having violations. You think Auburn feels guilty about their NC even though we all know they paid Cam? In the end, 99% of programs have some dirt on them, its just about hiding it. Tech just so happens to do a good job of hiding it and doesn't win enough to make the NCAA want to investigate. Notice I said most Tech fans have that superiority complex, not all. I've lived in VA all of my live and have had to deal w/ the bandwagoning of VT since the Vick era. So excuse me if I feel a bit of glee whenever Tech gets embarrassed in football. |

I care about violations. I know most fans are mouth-breathers that never even attended 'their' school, let alone played for said school. I have a personal connection and I want them to stay clean as possible. Did UCF win enough to make the NCAA notice? How about East Carolina? Indiana? Baylor? Cal? Cincinnati? Louisiana-Lafayette? I'm glad VaTech isn't winning games to the tune of these guys...we'd really be in trouble. I lived in VA until the age of 22. My family is still there, in Roanoke, Bburg, Va Beach, Cville. All states bandwagon behind their state schools. Like I said, go to South Carolina and listen to them whine and moan 12 months per year about the Gamecocks and Tigers. WVA loves them some Mountaineers. GA Bulldog fans (right behind LSU) might be the worst in college football.

I'll add the Georgia Bulldogs to the list. They were 'supposed' to win the SEC east the last 10 years (and have won 4 or 5) but haven't been able to break through against the big dogs . Certainly not on the scale of Notre Dame or Michigan but their fans are foaming at the mouth.
