Default Fall tournament draws

Thread for following fall tournaments on campus. The big ITA tournaments will no doubt get their own threads.

Duke Fab Four Invite

Looks like all the top Duke players are there except Bruno Semenzato.

Looks like it will be a great tournament.

Bruno Semenzato is not eligible to compete until the spring.

Just got back from CTP. The event seems smaller this year, compared to last. Only courts 11-30 were in use today, with the exception of court 1, and a few singles matches on the lower courts.

Most of the teams from last year are here again: W&M, Louisville, Bama, Kentucky, SCarolina, Elon, Texas/Texas A&M, Purdue, Illinois, NC State, NCarolina, and Duke.

I was most interested in watching the new faces for UNC, but Cunha and Redlicki won their singles matches today. Redlicki beat Simich (LVille) 5 & 1 (I was at tourney desk when he reported his score).

I'll go back tomorrow and pay more attention to the scores.

Cunha continues to cruise...was playing his semifinal match against VCU player when I left. Assuming he wins, he'll play Redlicki in the finals. I was looking forward to watching Redlicki play Rossi (UK) in other semi match, but Rossi pulled out. Not sure why - he looked fine playing McCall (Duke).

They just do things off the radar. Oh, and ring ceremony this weekend, that's big for them.

Correct. Everyone uses the fall to get their players match tough, let the coaches see the players in match situations so that the coach can more easily see what needs to be worked on, etc. So, the question of why they don't seem to have much of a fall schedule, when they have always had fall schedules that were comparable to other schools, is a valid one.

It looks like the Harvard Crimson Invitational and Fresno Bulldog Classic is off of those school's schedules compared to last year. Pepperdine just had one event before the ITAs as well.

My Memphis Tigers have a respectable first day. Interesting matches today. You going to watch any this weekend Clark?

maybe they have a secret weapon they are trying to hide.. or they found out last year that their schedule is too grueling and cutting back some..
the latter might the case .. after seeing some of the players at the end of last season, they didn't look like they handling the grind too well ..
