Default Any info on Pete Sampras Autograph PS85 ?

Anyone have more info on this racquet?

http://www.flickr.com/photos/3409793...7631593281070/

It appears to be very similar to the regular PS85, but the area just
above the grip is slightly more narrower. The other parts look similar.
Might be slightly thicker than 17mm. 17.5?

Did Sampras actually use this racquet? Were they available for sale in
retail stores?

Did he ever use it.....No. It's just another of the "branded" autograph sticks Wilson puts out - low to mid end pricing sold in the large box stores to take advantage of the Sampras name.

That make/case was for a thicker beam Wilson that was released around 1992 - but the racquet in the picture appears to be a thinner beam - I don't recall ever seeing it before?

That racket is a paintjob. I think it might be a PS 85 or 95 painted to look like another racket.

He did use that Paint Job at the 1991 French Open.

They were available for sale in Japan. I knew some Japanese guys back in the day that used that frame.

In the USA it was glossy cosmetic and it was a widebody with the dual taper beam in 95 and 110 head size.

Yup, I have that match on tape. He also used that paint job at Queens that year and then he was done with it.

I'm not crazy about the pinkish colors on it. I like the Black fading into
a dark green, though. I've hit with it once and it seemed to have quite
a bit of power. Could be due to the loose strings, though.

I had remembered Todd Martin using the Pro Staff 4.5 95 dual taper beam back then.
