Exclamation Please read. Sorry had to do it

First and foremost - I apologize if I come off as harsh...I'm just trying to be practical...

If you are posting a request for a new string recommendation - start here...

List AS MUCH INFORMATION AS POSSIBLE:
Examples -
Rating
Playing style
Current frame
Current String
Current tension
DESIRED COST
WHY YOU WANT A RECOMMENDATION
Why you feel you need something different
Are you not hitting a certain type of shot that you think a string change can help enhance?
Tennis elbow?
You want to hit it like NADAL
Whatever

Just list as much as humanly possible. Don't feel dismayed if you feel like you're asking a dumb question....

Too often on these forums you read -
Need a new recommendation?
Should I switch to poly?
What's the best multi? Poly? Tension?

Take your time with your thoughts, trust me, you will benefit in the long run. Theres a wealth of knowledge on these boards - the key is giving the correct information in the beginning so you can tap in to the resources available.

If I left anything out, please feel free to chime in.

Another suggestion is to make the title of the thread informative so people can ascertain the topic of the thread without having to open it.

That would have been useful on this thread!

FWIW- Players should use these suggestions when asking for a string recommendation from their stringers. Asking this sort of info would make it much easier to point out strings that fit the player and the player's equipment.

Overall, I think it's good advice if you want a relevant string recommendation.

I agree with this thread completely. I also think that the "mystery string" threads shouldn't be posted unless an image is included.

knew some would agree some would disagree...think I made my point in the post when apologizing for seeming harsh, just trying to be helpful to people who maybe don't have a regular stringer or people who wish to use the forums, rather than ask someone locally

I agree, it should be used as a template, like in the playtest reviews.

What's wrong with "I'm looking for a good string. Help"..? Simple, to the point..

But seriously, more info will definitely bring better answers.
