Your frame could be too light in stock. Try some lead which costs all of $2.50, I'd suggest starting with 4gm at the buttcap and either 2gm @ 12 or 4gm at 3&9. I don't like making comparisons to pros, but pretty much all the pros use lead tape.

I don't really buy into the idea that a frame is too powerful. I think the issues are: if it fits a particular style or swing, spin to power ratio, or control on the players part. I feel like some of the very powerful frames like the PDR actually play best when hitting full on (even with loose strings!) - definitely didn't feel any lack of control or placement, or issues keeping it in the court.

Try some players frames if you haven't already. 6.1 16x18 & prestige mid are must tries. The dunlop 200's get rave reviews. Throw in a lighter control frame like the Rad, Rebel, or 300/300t to cover your options.
Yeah the only "players frame" I have ever used was a pro staff 6.0 classic 95. I felt like it was just out of my comfort zone. So would these other players frames be like that?

Even though it's a fad, I'm highly considering the apdgt. I liked the feel of it, and everyone can use one. But I might want to go with a 18/20 pattern like the rackets Fuji has listed. I'm torn

I wouldn't really consider any of the best selling and most used frames whether players frame or tweener, a fad. IMO the APDGT plays very similar to the Pro Open. The 6.1 & the 6.0 95 were different. The 95 didn't really stand out to me but I really liked the 6.1. Also, the way the 6.0 95 you tried was strung could make a big impact on how it played & felt. The prestige mid is quite a demanding racket.

You'll just have to demo to find out if it fits. I like some aspects of dense patterns and a lot of players really play well with them. But personally they just don't fit for me. The only 18x20 I really liked was the Exo Tour. Get a good mix in 1 demo order such as (for example) 6.1 16x18, prestige mid, 300t, + whatever else, and you can quickly get a good idea of which direction you want to go from there.

Ok! I will demo the new 6.1 16x18, the prestige mid and then a control-tweener like a radical (already have tried ig rad mp but liked it), and then a regular tweener like the apdgt

Btw Fuji, do you think the regular IG Instinct would be a good choice if I put RIP Control in it?

Definitely in my books that would be a nice hit!

Alright man, thanks for all the comments! I have already hit with the IG Instinct and liked just about everything about it. I am weary to buy new, but that is the only option for that racket right now. I have to have one in the next couple of days...

Just another question. Have you used the new PD?

You're very welcome! The instinct is a nice hitting stick, RIP would definitely tame some of the inherent power it has.

Yup, I use my PDRGT+'s for tournaments as they give me the best opportunities to win given my skill set. I use both the new and old versions.

I have used the new PD, took it for a hit last Wednesday. Nice stick, comfortable considering the high stiffness, but I just don't swing fast enough to rein in it's power for an entire match. For some reason, my experience with higher powered sticks, is that unless I can maintain pretty high RHS with it, I'm losing control with it. The PD fit that mould perfectly. With my PDRGT+'s, the XL length slows the stick down a bit to make it more comfortable for me to maintain speed with off both wings.

I am so scared to buy a new stick!!! Like BRAND new. Because I have done that twice and only got back 75% of what I paid per TWs policy. Thought I would love the rackets, but ended up regretting it. So I was looking at a PD 2012 used as there are no IG instincts used.

I say no to Prestige IG. Most painful racket I've ever used, and that's with silicone in the handle. Made the K Factor a racket to get over tennis elbow. The Speeds were kinda nice.

Alright well I decided not to get any of these frames...lol I bought a used Pacific XForce from TW. The price was right, it's in great A condition, and I can return it if I don't like it

On the subject of RIP Control, I love it. The only downside with performance for me is that it moves all over the place compared to poly. As much as I like it I ended up switching to MSV Focus Hex poly when they did the big price hike on RIP. A good string but not worth $9.50 to me.

Yeah, I definitely notice the crazy movement! It's the one aspect that poly has it beat for sure. To be honest though, It doesn't bother me as OCD as I am.

I refuse to pay 9.50$ for RIP, I cruise the bay until I get good deals on it! There are a few sellers who sell reels for pretty fair prices IMO.

Yeah I should get it either tomorrow or thursday...I'm hoping tomorrow lol. And I didn't get RIP because the XForce is a low powered frame, I didn't really want to try out a new string AND racket, and PPA black looks sweet I will ask my stringer to string it next time with RIP if I feel that control is lacking.
