Users of YK IG radical Pro, what is your setup? I have it currently stung with BHBR 16 at 52lbs. 4 gm of Lead on each side at 9 and 3. I still find the racquet turning in my hand on slighly offcenter hits. It is very irritating, it is happening like 3 to 4 times a set. Have anyone one of you faced the same problem? How did you guys fix it? I am planning on installing Leather Grip, do you think it will add more stability?

The point of this thread is the one I demoed was much more head heavy and stable than the one I got.

I find that the pro has some softness toward the top of the hoop, rather than at the throat, so its probably this softness that youre feeling and perhaps this flex causes the problem.
There's certainly nothing wrong with the size of the sweetspot or the stability so added weight at 3 and 9 is a solution to a mis-diagnosed problem.

Will give one more try soon by removing the lead tables, add a dampner and then replace the grip with Leather. Let me see how it plays now.

I have in mine full bed Wilson natural gut at 56 pounds. Never have a problem with racket turning from my hand, and play it in stock.
Its a great racket, hope you find whats the problem. |

I still say its technique and not the racquet, if you are hitting off center so often, then get a racquet with a larger sweetspot and possibly larger headsize. The Radical Pro is a "players racquet" meant for 4.5 and above.

Sreeram - hope you've had a chance to experiment and find the ideal customization for your game. I have a pair of IG Rad Pros. One plays slightly head-heavier than the other, but weight-wise they are only about 1.5 grams different.
To match the lighter one, I tinkered with 2x2" of 1/4" lead at 12, then tried 4x1.5" of 1/4" lead at 10&2. This is in addition to lead under the grip and Tournagrip. This brings them to roughly 338 grams and 6 pts HL. Having used all of the Radical MPs from Liquidmetal through Youtek (non-IG) the IG Rad Pro is among the best if not the best in terms of stability in stock form. While you can certainly feel the flex on shots in the upper hoop, I don't think it lacks in stability. Perhaps once you find your ideal setup, your issues will remedy themselves. |

I felt like my perfect setup was mantis comfort on the mains at 50 and OG sheep crosses at 52. For some reason mantis comfort really grabs and sucks in the ball and redirects it nicely. The serves with this stick are very very nice.

I have mine with Leather Grip + wilson Pro over grip + 2 grams of Lead each at 10 and 2. It plays very stable now. Did not Twist in my hands much. Just once a Set at max.

The sweetspot on the Rad pro is fairly low down on the stringbed I find.
