52/50 is a good starting point. think might need to get another yy200 so as to try different strings.

like B5E/NVy for a good while in the 4D 100. got it now in the yy200 at 52/52 and it works too. have only 9+ hrs on the yy200 so need more time to string experiment.

Id string a little lower 52/50 instead of 56/54 and you will be good to go.

Maybe they are quite different sticks, but could someone compare the 200 tour to the pure storm tour?

I learnt from the thread that the sweetspot of the Yonex extends high up the bed( which is nice) how does the PST compare in that respect? I am guessing that the Yonex has greater spin potential but PST might be more solid and better at dealing with heavy balls, is that correct?

Thanks

The 200 will weigh in close the same as the pstgt and the sw is a little lower. They both are fine against heavy balls. I cant see either one having an issue in stock form as long as you have good timing. I used both, the pstgt feels a little more solid but the 200 gives more spin and racque speed. Very similar sticks that are both excellent..you would probably need to demo both.

Thanks PP. Had a feeling that they were similar, I guess I should demo both although I lean more towards the 200 tour.

i'm gonna get it tomorrow

it's a funny thing, today it was kind of my last "date" with the PDGT, and it's strings were about to pop. i was down 0-4, all shot were crap ,too short or too long, 0% feel etc..
of course it's probably the strings, but still.

so i took a chance of changing to an old Head Microgel instinct, my previous stick. it was still leaded in 3, 9 & 12. around 330 or so.. and it had an unplayed BHB7 at 56.

i won 7-5.

so i feel it's a kind of a sign that the RDiS will be good for me, even the heavy version.

I find the 200 to be a better stick..faster through the air..serve is far better. They both are 2 of my all time favorites though.

Roz, for me low tension is awesome but I am a pretty heavy spin hitter and had to develop my strokes over time to use low tension.

Some of this stuff you just have to find out by playing, but no I had no issues like that. I found more spin and more power on tap and really liked it.

Hi everyone! New to the boards and just ordered two of these bad boys... I've been playing with Pure Storm GT's leaded up to around 11.9 oz with Sonic Pro17 at 53# or Intellitour 17 at 57/55 and really like the playing characteristics, head shape and performance, but they are extremely "twangey"... even with the O dampener I get a high pitch audible vibration that drives me nuts. Maybe the woofer system... I also play with Dunlop 4d 200 tour's which are sold, but just not a fan of the narrow elongated hoop shape.
For me the beam width/head shape/throat length have to "feel" and look right to my eye, and I tend to like a shorter throat, squareish head and 21-22mm beam width, it's a mental thing I guess... After reading and researching every single Bab, Head, Dunlop, Vokl, Prince, Wilson racquet I stumbled on the YY's and the 200 specked out to my liking as I am looking for a softer players frame with the above characteristics that I can play stock at around 340 g with just an over grip and dampener. This is a no-demo "gut" buy but at $89 it's hard to go wrong...I can't wait for the UPS truck!

I am going to try the MSV Focus Hex mains at 50 and Prince SG Duraflex crosses at 48 as I've read about this racquets fondness for lower tension set-ups... Anyway just wanted to say "hi" and I will definitely post my feedback after a few sessions.

just got mine
it's a cutey!

a bit of advice?
i'm a racquet abuser, even when i stopped throwing it or hitting the net etc..
there are inevitable strokes that make you hit the court (low reaching slices)..
what the LIGHTEST way to keep my frame safe?
aren't most guard tapes add significant weight?
thanks.
