So Rosol plays? Should we hope he falls in Rafa's half? 1-0 H2H against your GOAT, and if going 2-0 after AO... No more talk about how dominant Rafa is, right?

I think blue clay will still be there @ Madrid, so no chance to see Rafa back in the Council then.

Anyone who likes Rosol will pray that he never has to face Rafa again. On Rosol's best day he could only manage a 6-4 5th set win. Imagine if Rosol doesn't play great next time, what then? And what if Rafa isn't suffering from Hoffa's syndrome next time? What then? If anyone likes Rosol they'll pray he never has to face Rafa again, and keeps the 1-0 record.

Too bad.
Should we lobby to have Rosol vs Rafa in early rounds of Madrid?

Nadal was lucky he didn't get straight setted that day.

He had to save quite a lot of set points in the first but he fought through though

And Rosol was lucky they had that long delay after the 4th set to close the roof and air condition the place before playing. Rafa had smoked Rosol in the 4th set. Even more bizarre, is it wasn't even raining when they chose to close the roof.

He didn't need that but it happened

The light was fine according to all commentators. And the players never complained about the light. The match referee said they closed the roof because they thought IN 30-40 MINUTES the light might fade. Oh and btw, the 3rd set took 34 minutes, 4th set took 32 minutes, 5th set took 33 minutes.

How could they have known?

Oh that's right, they don't always operate on the ASSUMPTION that nadal is going to steamroll.

Which commentators?? And I thought that was a good call. There's nothing wrong with more light unless of course nadal's eyes had something wrong with them and he still played what a warrior

Face it, the Australian Open and Roland Garros are the only properly run slams.

Closing the roof in anticipation of the light fading IN 30-40 minutes. The dumbest match ref in tennis history. And I couldn't care less that Rafa lost that match, I'm talking about the logic behind the decision.
