I would love to see Serena vs some top junior male player, just to see where the level of both is - top WTA players and top boys. Fact is that in last decade the difference between men and women become probably even bigger than ever before, because of physicality of this sport.

Top juniors can probably serve at speed of Serena, maybe even harder, the question is placement - Serena has great placement and great toss-hard to read, so that makes her serve best in women´s history, but that´s it her power on strokes is unique on WTA - only few women can keep up with her, but even young male player - like 17-18th year old should have enough power to go toe-to-toe with her and than there is speed-stamina - that´s where i think any young male player should have addvantage, especially in speed-movement area, Serena is not best mover, she is big, any good athlete-would give back balls any WTA player couldn´t + thanks to movement, footwork and speed would be in better position, better timing, playing agressive and so on.

I would love to see such match just to see how it goes.

"Men's tennis is currently in the top four in terms of quality and popularity, it’s at its peak, just like golf when Tiger Woods dominated," Tipsarevic said. "In women's tennis it’s very different. I do not underestimate the achievements of Victoria Azarenka and the others, but their best time is over. That was when the Williams sisters, Kim Clijsters, Justine Henin and Amelie Mauresmo were at the top. I wouldn't say a good junior could beat Serena 6-1, 6-2, but it is ridiculous that women get equal prize money at the Grand Slams."

Such a woman hater.

I'm pretty sure neither Raonic nor Isner is ranked number 1.

Serena hit with Sock before the US Open this year, I asked Sock for details but he played it humble and said it was even. Got the sense Sock was being diplomatic.

You are such a hateful person, it gives me a headache.

Why is this individual not banned. Everything he spouts is bile hatred.

Tipsarevic challenged Federer in one of the greatest macthes in history in the AO 2008. Somehow I believe that that is more siginificant than ANYTHING that you will ever achieve in your unimportant existence.

Serena, Venus, Sharapova, Clijsters, would fill far more seats than either of these 2 clowns. It is hilarious that they have the gall to complain about other people's undeserved earnings.
Except that he never claimed that HE deserves more money than the likes of Azarenka. This is why I absolutely LOATHE WTA sycophants. Just because their idols have vaginas, they feel to puke bile on a guy like Tipsarevic.

Women, in just about EVERY sport of the world, are worth less than their male counterparts. WTA players deserve equal prizemoney with the ATP about as much as WNBA players deserve as much as NBA players do.

When will you realize that he never claimed that he INDIVIDUALLY deserves more than Serena Williams. (yeah, nice strawman there partner)

Let's abolish joint events. Guess who will gather more fan interest and revenue.

Why do you think that this forum, not exclusively for either ATP or WTA, almost EXCLUSIVELY discusses the ATP?

Djokovic agreed with him.

Does that mean he is also an insignificant human being?

Will your family get murdered if you do something else but post like a vile, hateful human being?

You should also look up the meaning of the word "sexist".

1. Players who serve 130, not 120) on the tee consistently STILL get broken. (Raonic)

2. Serena has NEVER average 120 on her first serve. On a good day she will average 110 MPH. Oh and with balls smaller and lighter than the guys use. So if they were to use ATP ball, she would serve slightly better than David Ferrer.

Janko just missed the point. It's cyclical. Once Federer and Nadal retire, does he really think men's tennis will retain the same heights? Of course not. Nor does he say that women should have been paid more back when they were thriving and the men's were struggling.

What makes you think he doesn't think so? Currently, that isn't the case.

Not to mention, even though it's cyclic, men will always be more popular than women in sports. I don't think that's what they complain about. The problem is that women don't determine the payscale differently. If their tournaments were held seperately and they were to attract similar revenue, I don't think the likes of Stakhovsky and Simon would give a f*ck. It is the fact that men and women earn the same by default that ****es off some people, since it brings pseudofeminist crap into BUSINESS. Do WNBA players earn the same money as NBA players do? Do male models earn the same money that female ones do? Do female MMA fighters earn even a fraction of what the guys do?

Completely ignoring this: why do women play a different format in the first place? I mean, I know it's posh to call these fellas sexist, but honestly, making women play the same format of tennis that guys play when they play the warm up tournaments (non-slams essentially) is far more insulting than anything that they could say. There is just no way that people getting paid the same prizemoney while only playing best of 3 makes sense.

The saddest part is, throughout history, feminists have complained about having to work twice as hard for the same money. In tennis, asking for the same rules for equal money is considered "sexist". A joke.

This entire thread is based on a poorly translated original article, and a bunch of forum members who don't pay attention to the corrected translation.

Janko did not say that a good junior would crush Serena 6-1, 6-0.

He specifically denied that something like that would happen. It was the translator who conveniently forgot to omit the negation that he used.

Well said! As a female, I find this to be reverse discriminatory and hypocritically "sexist" to say the least.

I would love to see such match just to see how it goes.
Me, I would love to see Serena play John McEnroe.
Some time ago, McEnroe said he believed he could beat Serena.
So, a press guy asked Roddick about that and Roddick said he believed McEnroe would beat Serena too.
